THE MAINSTREAM COALITION IS DEDICATED TO CREATING A MORE REPRESENTATIVE AND RESPONSIVE GOVERNMENT BY EMPOWERING INFORMED PARTICIPATION AND MEANINGFUL ACTION IN THE POLITCAL PROCESS. WE ENVISION A KANSAS POLITICAL SYSTEM THAT REPRESENTS ALL OF ITS CONSTITUENTS.

IN 2021 MAINSTREAM COALITION ENGAGED IN NUMEROUS ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES. THE COALITION SENDS A WEEKLY EMAIL, SENDS OUT ACTION ALERTS TO ITS NETWOK, ENGAGES ON SOCIAL MEDIA, AND HOSTS REGULAR EVENTS TO HELP EDUCATEAND ENGAGE THE PUBLIC ON CRITCAL ISSUES FACING THE STATE OF KANASAS. MAINSTREAM ENGAGED IN TESTIMONY BEFORE THE KANSAS LEGISLATURE ON TOPICS AS DIVERSE AS GUN SAFERY, VOTING RIGHTS, SUPPORT OF KANCARE EXPANSION, AND SUITABLE FUNDING OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS THROUGH THE STATE.
MAINSTREAM COALITION HELD SEVERAL LEGISLATIVE FORUMS WHERE SITTING LEGISLATORS WERE INVITED TO UPDATE THE PUBLIC ON KEY ISSUES BEING ADDRESSED BY THE KANSAS LEGISLATURE. ADDITONAL FORUMS CONSISTED OF NONPARTISAN EDUCATION CANDIDATE FORUMS; AND COMMUNITY LEADERS SPEAKING ON PUBLIC EDUCATION FUNDING ISSUES, BUDGETS, FISCAL RESPONSIBILIT, AND CITIZENRY RESPONSIBILITIES TO BE AN INFORMED AND ACTIVE VOTER.
