IAPD ANNUAL CONVENTION AND IAPD LEADERSHIP SUMMITTHE OBJECTIVE FOR THE ANNUAL CONVENTION IS TO PROVIDE NETWORKING, EDUCATION, AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PLASTICS DISTRIBUTION INDUSTRY. THE LEADERSHIP SUMMMIT OFFERS LEADERSHIP TRAINING, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, AND SUBSTANTIVE MEETINGS CONCERNING THE DIRECTION OF THE INDUSTRY.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMSIAPD LAUNCHED A SERIES OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS IN 2008. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDED AN INDUSTRY SURVEY BENCHMARKING THE RECYCLING ACTIVITIES OF THE PLASTICS DISTRIBUTION INDUSTRY, A COMPILATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL GUIDELINES, BEST PRACTICES AND DEFINITIONS, AND AN EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR CONDUCTED DURING THE ANNUAL CONVENTION. IAPD EDUCATIONIAPD LAUNCHED LEVEL 2 OF THE IAPD CERTIFICATE COURSE IN 2008. IAPD ADDED THE EXCELLENCE IN SALES CERTIFICATE PROGRAM LEVEL 1, INTRODUCTION TO PLASTICS SALES AND WEBINAR SPONSORSHIPS. THE PURPOSE OF THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS ARE TO EDUCATE PLASTICS PROFESSIONALS ON HOW TO BEST SELL PLASTICS, EDUCATE CUSTOMERS ON HOW TO USE PLASTICS, AND GROW THE OVERALL INDUSTRY.
