ASCENSION VIA CHRISTI HEALTH PARTNERS (AVCHP) DEVELOPS PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES THAT IMPROVE ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE AND IMPROVES HEALTH IN THE COMMUNITIES SERVED. SUPPORT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS AFFILIATED WITH ASCENSION VIA CHRISTI HEALTH. AS A PART OF ASCENSION VIA CHRISTI HEALTH, A CATHOLIC HEALTH SYSTEM, AVCHP SHARES THE MISSION OF "ROOTED IN THE LOVING MINISTRY OF JESUS AS HEALER, WE COMMIT OURSELVES TO SERVING ALL PERSONS WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THOSE WHO ARE POOR AND VULNERABLE. OUR CATHOLIC HEALTH MINISTRY IS DEDICATED TO SPIRITUALLY CENTERED, HOLISTIC CARE WHICH SUSTAINS AND IMPROVES THE HEALTH OF INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES. THE FOLLOWING AVCHP COMPANIES SERVE AS CLINICAL EDUCATION FIELD PLACEMENT SETTINGS FOR AREA COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES AND VOCATIONAL STUDENTS: 1) ASCENSION VIA CHRISTI IMAGING WICHITA, LLC- RADIOLOGY & ULTRASOUND TECHNICIAN STUDENTS 2) KANSAS SURGERY & RECOVERY CENTER - NURSING STUDENTS & SCRUB TECHS 3) ASCENSION VIA CHRISTI HOME MEDICAL SERVICES - NURSING, RESPIRATORY THERAPY & PHARMACY STUDENTS 4) CENTER FOR SAME DAY SURGERY - MEDICAL SURGICAL RESIDENTS IN ADDITION, AVCHP COMPANIES ASSIST WITH: 1) FUNDRAISING FOR OTHER AREA NOT-FOR-PROFITS THROUGH THE ANNUAL ONE COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN (IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNITED WAY), 2) SAVING LIVES THROUGH SPONSORING BLOOD DRIVES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE AMERICAN RED CROSS, 3) CASH DONATIONS TO THE PANDO INITIATIVE TO HELP REMOVE OBSTACLES THAT PREVENT STUDENT SUCCESS AND REDUCE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AS A RESULT OF ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL FACTORS. 4) FOOD DRIVES TO ASSIST COMMUNITY STRUGGLING WITH FOOD INSECURITY AND BASIC NEEDS. 5) WORK WITH PROJECT SEARCH IN WICHITA WITH PAID INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO PREPARE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THAT PREPARE THEM TO SUCCESSFULLY ENTER THE WORKFORCE.
