THE SOCIETY ACTIVELY ENCOURAGES AND RECOGNIZES EXCELLENCE IN SCHOLARSHIP, SERVICE TO THE ANTHROPOLOGICAL COMMUNITY AND THE MAINTENANCE OF RESEARCH COLLECTIONS.
