THE MISSION OF WYLIE BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION IS THREE-FOLD: 1)TO PROVIDE SAFE, ENJOYABLE, RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUTH OF WYLIE, TX AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES; 2)TO TEACH THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE THESE SPORTS IN A SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT, WHERE ALL CHILDREN HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY REGARDLESS OF SKILL LEVEL; AND 3)THAT EACH CHILD WILL LEARN THE IMPORTANCE OF SPORTSMANSHIP, TEAMWORK, HONOR AND INTEGRITY WHILE SHARING WITH THEIR COACHES AND TEAMMATES THE EMOTIONS OF BOTH SUCCESS AND FAILURE.

Part 3
DURING 2017, 780 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN THE SPRING BASEBALL PROGRAM AND 509 CHILDREN IN THE FALL PROGRAM. THESE YOUNG ATHLETES CAME NOT ONLY FROM WYLIE, TX., BUT ALSO SURROUNDING SMALLER COMMUNITIES THAT LACKED THE MEANS TO PROVIDE SUCH ACTIVITIES. PARTICIPANTS WERE TAUGHT THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE SPORT IN A SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT, WHERE ALL CHILDREN HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY REGARDLESS OF SKILL LEVEL. THESE CHILDREN ALSO LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE OF SPORTSMANSHIP, TEAMWORK, HONOR, AND INTEGRITY FROM 415 VOLUNTEER COACHES SERVING BOTH IN THE BASEBALL PROGRAM AND THE SOFTBALL PROGRAM AS DESCRIBED IN 4(B).
DURING 2017, 324 GIRLS PARTICIPATED IN THE SPRING SOFTBALL LEAGUE AND 286 IN THE FALL PROGRAM. PARTICIPANTS WERE TAUGHT THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE SPORT IN A SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT, WHERE ALL CHILDREN WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY REGARDLESS OF SKILL LEVEL. IN ADDITION TO SPORTS SKILLS PARTICIPANTS LEARNED THE IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS OF SPORTSMANSHIP, TEAMWORK, HONOR, AND INTEGRITY.
DESPITE SPACE CONSTRAINTS DUE TO THE NUMBER OF FIELDS AND VOLUNTEER COACHES IN A SEASON, NO CHILD WAS TURNED AWAY DUE TO FINANCIAL HARDSHIP.
