VISIT CANTON'S MISSION IS TO ATTRACT AND ORIENT VISITORS, EDUCATE AND SERVE THE TOURISM INDUSTRY PARTNERS AND ENGAGE IN REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY CONVERSATIONS THAT USE TRAVEL AND TOURISM TO DEVELOP AND ENHANCE THE COMMUNITIES OF STARK COUNTY. IN 2022 VISIT CANTON ATTRACTED 550 EVENTS WITH A TOTAL OF 217,906 VISITORS TO THE REGION FOR A TOUR, MEETING, OR EVENT WHICH GENERATED OVER $45,548,202 DOLLARS IN VISITOR SPENDING TO THE COMMUNITY. VISIT CANTON'S MARKETING TRACKED OVER 4 MILLION IMPRESSIONS OVER MULTIPLE PLATFORMS, NOT INCLUDING THE VAST ARRAY OF EARNED MEDIA AND OTHER NON-TRACKABLE MARKETING PLATFORMS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO INVESTED OVER $820,000 IN CULTURAL TOURISM, DESTINATION ENHANCEMENT AND EVENT SUPPORT GRANTS TO CREATE ADDITIONAL VISITOR SPENDING FOR THE REGION.
