GWYNETH'S GIFT FOUNDATION IS DEVOTED TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY AND THE LIVES OF THOSE WITHIN. OUR PURPOSE IS TO RAISE COMMUNITY AND NATIONAL AWARENESS AND EDUCATION OF CARDIO PULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) AND AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS (AED) AND TO ENCOURAGE CONTINUED RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE MEDICAL AREAS OF CONGENITAL HEART DEFECTS, PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGY AND TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES. THE FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO HONOR THE LIFE OF GWYNETH MORGAN GRIFFIN.

AEDS- WE PURCHASED AND DEPLOYED 19 AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS (AED) THROUGH OUR FOUNDATION. AEDS WERE DONATED TO LOCATIONS THAT SERVE LARGE NUMBERS OF INDIVIDUALS WHICH INCLUDED DAYCARES, CHURCHES, NONPROFITS, MUSEUMS, AND GYMS.
CPR TRAINING- WE TRAINED 1,848 CITIZENS IN HANDS-ONLY CPR AT OUR HANDS-ONLY TRAINING EVENTS. THESE FREE TO THE PUBLIC EVENTS FOCUSED ON CPR AWARENESS AND ENGAGING THOSE UNFAMILIAR WITH CPR AND THE PROPER USE OF AN AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (AED). IN 2020, WE IMPLEMENTED OUR VIRTUAL TRAINING OPTION TO REMAIN RELEVANT DURING COVID-19.
SCHOLARSHIPS- GWYNETH'S GIFT FOUNDATION AWARDED FOUR $2,500 SCHOLARSHIPS TO GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS FOR THEIR HIGHER EDUCATION PURSUITS. THE SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO SENIORS AT COLONIAL FORGE HIGH SCHOOL, MOUNTAIN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL (WHERE GWYNETH WOULD HAVE ATTENDED), NORTH STAFFORD HIGH SCHOOL AND STAFFORD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS WERE GIVEN IN HER HONOR. THE NUMBER AND AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED WAS BASED ON AVAILABLE FUNDING.
AWARENESS - WE PARTICIPATED IN 14 AWARENESS EVENTS. THE AWARENESS PROGRAM FOCUSES ON USING SOCIAL MEDIA, FOUNDATION CREATED MATERIAL, FREE TRAINING AT COMMUNITY EVENTS, ADVOCACY, AND PUBLIC SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS TO PROMOTE THE IMPORTANCE OF HANDS-ONLY CPR AND THE USE OF AN AED. ADDITIONALLY, WE PARTNER WITH CIVIC GROUPS, LOCAL EMS, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS, AND PRIVATE BUSINESS TO BRING AWARENESS TO A BYSTANDER'S ABILITY TO SAVE A LIFE.
