IN ADDITION TO A MISSION OF EMPOWERMENT, WED IS COMMITTED TO GATHERING A THINK TANK OF INSPIRING WOMEN LEADERS WHO CAN AMPLIFY OUR MESSAGE OF EXPANDING BUSINESSES WITH SOCIAL-GOOD INITIATIVES IN COMMUNITIES AROUND THE WORLD.

WEDO 2020 IMPACT AMBASSADOR SUMMARY EUROPE: DENMARK: WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP DAY DENMARK 2020, WEDO GATHERED ECOSYSTEM STAKEHOLDERS TO COMMIT THEMSELVES TO MAKING STRUCTURAL CHANGES IN OUR ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM, BY INTENTIONAL DESIGN FOR DIVERSITY AND TO IMPROVE THE GENDER BALANCE IN THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL OFFERINGS. WITH THE OVERALL GOAL TO IMPROVE CONDITIONS FOR WOMEN STARTING THEIR OWN COMPANY IN DENMARK. WEDO LAUNCHED A DIVERSITY COMMITMENT AMONG 10 INVESTORS IN DENMARK: HTTPS://BORSEN.DK/NYHEDER/PROSELVSTAENDIG/INVESTORER-FORPLIGTER-SIG-TIL-MERE-DIVERSITET THE 10 GRANDEST AND MOST POWERFUL INVESTORS IN DENMARK AGREED TO SET COMMON GOALS ON DIVERSITY IN REGARDS TO THE DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDING. LONDON: WEDO HOSTED AN ONSITE AND ONLINE EVENT ON 14 NOVEMBER 2020. THE EVENT ATTRACTED WOMEN IN BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN AND ASPIRING WOMEN IN BUSINESS. THE OBJECTIVE WAS TO INSPIRE WOMEN TO REPOSITION THEIR PERSONAL AND BUSINESS BRANDS, 60% OF THE WOMEN THAT ATTENDED ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON NEW STRATEGIES AND 40% ARE STARTING COACHING SESSIONS (BORN TO BLOOM) WITH OUR GUEST SPEAKER -NOX MAGWAZA (SA WEDO AMBASSADOR). OTHERS ARE STARTING NEW BUSINESSES AS A RESULT OF BEING INSPIRED AND GETTING SUPPORT FROM THE EVENT. HELSINKI, FINLAND: WEDO PROVIDED FREE VIRTUAL CLINICS FOR ALL ENTREPRENEURS INCL. ACCOUNTING, BUSINESS COACHING, DIGITAL BUSINESS COACHING, LAW. WEDO ALSO RAISED MONEY TO SUPPORT IMMIGRANT WOMEN IN FINLAND VIA WE ENCOURAGE FUNDRAISING PLATFORM. BUDAPEST: WEDO LAUNCHED THE USUAL INTER-EVENT PRO BONO ADVISOR PROGRAM (NOV 18-19-20), BUILT A FACEBOOK SITE WHERE MORE THAN 20 FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS WERE INTRODUCED. WEDO ALSO MADE A LONG TERM ALLIANCE WITH THE ONE AND ONLY COMMUNITY BANK MAGNET BANK. CZECH REPUBLIC: MORE PEOPLE GOT TO KNOW ABOUT WED AND THE CHOOSE WOMEN CAMPAIGN. AFRICA: EASTERN AFRICA: THE EAST AFRICA COMMUNITY PLEDGED TO EMPOWER THROUGH COACHING 4,000 GIRLS, YOUNG WOMEN, AND SEASONED WOMEN IN BUSINESS TO SUPPORT THEM TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS OVER 3 YEARS. WEDO ATTRACTED AUDIENCES FROM BEYOND THE REGION INCLUDING GHANA, ZIMBABWE, USA. WEST AFRICA: WEDO HELD THE WEST AFRICAN REGIONAL VIRTUAL SUMMIT. WEDO MADE A BIGGER IMPACT BY FIRST COLLABORATING WITH OTHER WEST AFRICAN COUNTRIES TO BRING THE FIRST EVER REGIONAL CONFERENCE WHICH WAS DESIGNED TO TRIGGER A SHIFT IN THE MINDS OF WEST AFRICAN WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS. A PANEL OF FEMALE DISRUPTORS NOT ONLY SHARED THEIR STORY BUT ACTIVELY ENGAGED WITH QUESTIONS FROM THE PARTICIPANTS. CONFERENCE ALSO INTRODUCED THE 6-POINT AGENDA FOR AFRICA LED BY THE AFRICA GLOBAL AMBASSADOR TATIANA MADI. THE PLAN IS TO ORGANIZE EVENTS, COLLABORATE AND ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN IMPACTING THE 6 INDUSTRIES OF FINTECH, STEAM, AGRIBUSINESS, MINING, FARMING, EDUCATION. UGANDA: WEDO HELD A VIRTUAL EVENT WHICH ENABLED WOMEN TO ATTEND FROM THE REGION AND BEYOND INCLUDING WEST AFRICA AND SOUTHERN AFRICA. BROUGHT DIFFERENT CULTURES TOGETHER TO FOCUS ON PERSONAL GROWTH AND RESILIENCE, GIVING TIPS ON BECOMING A RESILIENT CHANGEMAKER - SO STRATEGIES WERE SHARED, PARTICULARLY IN THIS COVID19 SITUATION. TANZANIA: WEDO HELD A VIRTUAL JOINT EVENT FOR THE EASTERN AFRICA REGION WHERE WOMEN FROM 5 EAST AFRICA COUNTRIES AND OUTSIDE THE REGION INCLUDING US AND UK WERE ABLE TO MEET AND CELEBRATE WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP, CONTRIBUTE TO THE ECONOMY, AND NETWORK TO ESTABLISH CONTACT FOR FURTHER BUSINESS SYNERGIES ACROSS THE CONTINENT. FROM THE SUMMIT WEDO MANAGED TO GET PARTNERS FOR 2021 YEAR ACTIVITIES INCLUDING TRAINING, CODING FOR GIRLS, TRADE INITIATIVE ETC. SOUTH AFRICA: THE ANNUAL BIOSUMMIT / WEDO 2020 ELEVATED SA WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP DAY ON THE NATIONAL TV (SABC) AND VARIOUS RADIO STATIONS, LOCAL AND REGIONAL. CENTRAL AFRICA: WEDO PARTNERED WITH IRINA ACCELERATOR TO TRAIN FEMALE EARLY STAGE BUSINESS OWNERS ON LEADERSHIP AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT. SO FAR 10 WOMEN HAVE RECEIVED TRAINING. WITH THE REGIONAL FOCUS FOR 2020-2023 BEING PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF GIRLS, YOUNG WOMEN & FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS, WEDO BROUGHT IN EXPERT COACHES & SPEAKERS WHO HAVE COMMITTED TO JOINING FORCES WITH US IN THIS JOURNEY TO EMPOWER, INSPIRE AND SUPPORT THE OVERALL WEDO VISION.
