Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
A CHRISTIAN MINISTRY WITH A FOCUS ON DISCIPLE-MAKING AMONG NON-CHRISTIANS AND EQUIPPING EMERGING LEADERS IN THE CHURCH FOR MINISTRY
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE LAB (FOR EMERGING LEADERS):THIS YEAR WE RELAUNCHED THE LAB WITH THE NEW STRUCTURE WHICH REQUIRES PARTICIPANTS IN THE LAB TO FIRST GO THROUGH DISCIPLE-MAKING COMMUNITY (DMC) MODULES 1 AND 2 AND ALSO RECEIVE THE TRAINING FOR BIBLE DIALOGUING. FINALLY, THEY HAVE TO START A BIBLE DIALOGUE OR A DMC IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LAB. WE HAD FIVE PARTICIPANTS THIS YEAR. WHAT WAS DIFFERENT IS THAT WE DID EVERYTHING IN SPANISH. WE HOPE TWO RUN TWO LABS IN 2022, IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH, BEGINNING IN THE FALL.
BIBLE DIALOGUE WORKSHOP:OVERALL THE NEW FORMAT FOR BIBLE DIALOGUE TRAINING WE LAUNCHED IN 2021 CONTINUED TO PERFORM WELL. WE CHOSE NOT TO MEASURE SUCCESS BY THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO TAKE THE TRAINING BUT BY THE NUMBER WHO START A DIALOGUE WITH SOMEONE AFTER RECEIVING THE TRAINING. WE TRAINED 43 PEOPLE TO FACILITATE A BIBLE DIALOGUE BUT WERE HAVING TROUBLE TRACKING (SEE THE NEXT ACCOMPLISHMENT). WE KNOW OF AT LEAST 15 DIALOGUES THAT WERE STARTED WITH ANYWHERE FROM 1 TO 15 PEOPLE, BUT WE HAD TROUBLE GETTING PEOPLE TO EMAIL REPORTS. THIS LED TO THE FOLLOWING ACCOMPLISHMENT
THE NORTH COUNTY PROJECT APP: NCP CONNECTBECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE AN OFFICE OR AN ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT WE HAVE HAD DIFFICULTIES TRACKING THE ACTIVITIES OF THOSE WHO WE TRAIN. A FEW VOLUNTEERS ARE VERY RESPONSIVE, MOST FOUND OUR REPORTING PROCESS TEDIOUS. WE DECIDED TO BUILD AN APP THAT WOULD HOUSE ALL OUR MINISTRIES, ALLOW VOLUNTEERS TO USE IT FOR THEIR MINISTRIES, AND PROVIDE ALL OF OUR MINISTRY RESOURCES IN ONE PLACE. WE WERE ABLE TO LAUNCH IT IN THE LAST QUARTER AND WE ARE ALREADY SEEING MUCH MORE USAGE. BY THE END OF 2022 WE HOPE TO HAVE MORE COMPLETE REPORTING ON OUR DMCS, BIBLE DIALOGUES, PRAYER WALKERS, AND DECISIONS FOR JESUS.
MY BOOKSHELF:MY BOOKSHELF HAD LOST INITIATIVE DUE TO THE LACK OF A COMMITTED VOLUNTEER TO RUN IT. WE WERE SIMPLY TOO SMALL TO RUN IT ALONG WITH OUR OTHER CORE MINISTRIES. WE DID NOT ABANDON IT, WE MERELY PUT IT ON HOLD UNTIL WE FOUND THE RIGHT PERSON. WE DID HAVE A VOLUNTEER , WHO HAS A 40 YEAR RUN IN PUBLISHING AND NEWPAPERS. THIS VOLUNTEER IS PASSIONATE ABOUT THE CORE GOALS OF MY BOOKSHELF (OR MBC). HE HAS PERSONAL CONSTRAINTS AND HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FOCUS ON THIS MISSION AT THIS TIME. WE LOOK FORWARD TO GROWTH IN 2022.
