Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
FIRST HUNT FOUNDATIONS PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO KEEP THE HUNTING HERITAGE ALIVE IN AMERICA. THIS IS DONE BY MENTORING/COACHING NEW HUNTERS, RECRUITING MENTORS/COACHES TO HELP NEW HUNTERS AND BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE ORGANIZATION TO KEEP THE PROCESS GOING. FHF PRIMARILY WORKS WITH YOUTH WANTING TO LEARN HUNTING SKILLS, BUT ALSO WORKS WITH ADULTS AND ESPECIALLY VETERANS, FIRST RESPONDERS AND WOMEN.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
FHF SEEKS TO FIND MENTEES OF ALL AGES THAT DESIRE TO LEARN ABOUT HUNTING. IN 2021 FHF ACCOMPLISHED 8978 MENTOR DAYS. THIS WAS DONE BY HAVING 934 YOUTH MENTORS AND 1108 ADULTS (OVER 18) MENTORS BEING TRAINED. OF THOSE NUMBERS, 425 WERE GIRLS AND 509 WERE BOYS BEING TRAINED. THERE WERE 6926 MENTOR DAYS OF ACTUAL HUNTING AND 2052 MENTOR DAYS OF TRAINING FOR A HUNTING SKILL.
FHF SEEKS TO RECRUIT MENTORS THAT IN TURN WILL TRAIN AND TAKE MEETEES HUNTING. RECRUITING MENTORS IS FHF'S MAIN FOCUS IN OUR GROWTH PERIOD AS THERE IS A DIRECT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE NUMBER OF NEW HUNTERS TRAINED AND THE NUMBER OF AVAILABLE, ACTIVE MENTORS. IN 2021 FHF HAD SIGNED UP 190 MORE MENTORS AND EXPANDED TO OPERATE IN 35 STATES. LIKEWISE, FHF RECRUITED MENTORS AT 2 MAJOR OUTDOOR SHOWS. FHF IMPLEMENTED A SIMULATED HUNTING RANGE AT THESE SHOWS AND HAVE HAD OVER 10,000 YOUTH GO THROUGH THE RANGE THUS FAR.
FHF DESIRES TO BECOME THE LARGEST NEW HUNTER MENTORING ORGANIZATION IN THE U.S. FOR TRAINING HUNTERS. FHF IS STRIVING TO DO THE BEST BUSINESS MANAGEMENT PRACTICES TO BE SUSTAINABLE IN THE FUTURE. FHF IS WORKING TO RECRUIT STATE, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL LEADERS WHO CAN VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME IN ORGANIZING THE GROWING THE ORGANIZATION. FORMING LOCAL CHAPTERS IS A PRIORITY OF FHF LEADERSHIP. THERE IS MORE STABILITY IF A GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS FORM A COHESIVE STRUCTURE TO WORK WITHIN. FHF HAS STARTED COMMUNICATING WITH ALL IT'S MENTORS THROUGH A CONSTANT CONTACT NEWS LETTER. FHF RECRUITED A NEW "CONNECTING HEROES & HUNTERS" NATIONAL DIRECTOR IN 2021.
