IN ITS MISSION TO ASSIST CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE, CSCOE GRANTS FINANCIAL RESOURCES DIRECTLY TO SCHOOLS TO SUPPORT A VARIETY OF NEEDS INCLUDING TECHNOLOGY AND CURRICULUM ENHANCEMENTS, PROGRAM ACCREDITATION, AND LEADERSHIP AND STAFF RECRUITMENT, TRAINING, RETENTION AND RECOGNITION. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES COST EFFECTIVE, CENTRALIZED SUPPORT IN THE AREA OF LEADERSHIP AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND THE ADMINISTRATION AND OPTIMAL UTILIZATION OF ASSESSMENT TESTING. AREAS OF SPECIAL INTEREST INCLUDE SERVING CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, SUPPORTING ADVANCEMENTS IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH (STEM) EDUCATION, HIGHLIGHTING ACHIEVMENTS IN THE ARTS BY PROMOTING TALENT SHOWS AND FOSTERING A FUN-FOCUSED APPROACH TO YOUTH ATHLETICS. SUCCESS IN THIS ENDEAVOR CAN BE MEASURED IN HIGHER TEST SCORES, GRADUATION AND COLLEGE ACCEPTANCE RATES, PARENT SATISFACTION AND SCHOOL RETENTION AND GROWTH RATES.
CSCOE UTILIZES BOTH DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND THE SPONSORSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION OF CENTRALIZED PROGRAM IN ITS MISSION TO HELP CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS INCREASE ENROLLMENT. SPECIFICALLY, CSCOE HAS PROVIDED GRANTS TO ESTABLISH, ENLARGE AND IMPROVE PRESCHOOLS, TO CONDUCT DIRECT MARKETING PROGRAMS TAILORED TO INDIVIDUAL SCHOOLS AND TO CREATE OR ENHANCE SCHOOL WEBSITES AND SOCIAL MEDIA PROGRAMS. CSCOE HAS ALSO RECOGNIZED SPECIFIC ENROLLMENT ACHIEVEMENT WITH FINANCIAL GRANTS. CENTRALIZED PROGRAMS HAVE INCLUDED COMMUNITY-WIDE ADVERTISING AND MARKETING PROGRAMS, SPECIFIC INITIATIVES DIRECTED AT THE LATINO COMMUNITY, TRAINING IN HOW TO CREATE AND IMPLEMENT ENROLLMENT PLANS. THE ORGANIZATION PUBLISHES A QUARTERLY MAGAZINE TO SHOWCASE THE BENEFITS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION AND HOSTED AN 'ALL-SCHOOL' MASS THAT BROUGHT APPROXIMATELY 12,000 FOURTH THROUGH EIGHTH GRADERS TOGETHER FOR A DAY OF WORSHIP AND CELEBRATION OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION.
