Part 3
DISTRIBUTION OF ESSENTIAL PERSONAL HYGIENE SUPPLIES TO CHILDREN AND INDIVIDUALS IN NEED.GIVT EXPERIENCED TREMENDOUS REFINEMENT AND GROWTH IN 2021. SINCE FORMING THIS NONPROFIT IN 2015 WE HAVE BEEN CONTINUOUSLY SHAPING AND EVOLVING IN THE CHILDREN'S HEALTH AND WELLNESS SPACE. AFTER YEARS OF NAVIGATING THROUGH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND HEALTH CARE DISTRICT OF PALM BEACH COUNTY AND FORMING PARTNERSHIPS AND ALLIANCES WE HAVE BUILT A ROAD MAP FROM THE GROUND UP FOR WHAT IT IS THAT WE DO AND BELIEVE WILL BE USED THROUGHOUT OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE FUTURE. IN 2020 WE MET WITH OUR TWO LARGEST FUNDERS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WE COULD BE DOING TO SCALE OUR OPERATION (ALL SCHOOLS IN PALM BEACH COUNTY - FROM 18 SCHOOLS TO 166) AND SECURE FUNDING ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. THE SYLVESTER FOUNDATION URGED US TO SIMPLIFY OUR OERING AND REMOVE OURSELVES FROM ASSEMBLY WHICH WAS LABOR INTENSIVE AND SLOWING DOWN PRODUCTION. THE MCNALLY FAMILY FOUNDATION SAID WE NEEDED TO REMOVE OURSELVES FROM DISTRIBUTION STREAMLINING THE OPERATION. IN 2021 WE REMOVED OURSELVES FROM ASSEMBLY AND DISTRIBUTION BY TEAMING UP WITH A NONPROFIT IN OKLAHOMA WHERE WE SOURCE OUR PRODUCT THROUGH THEIR WHOLESALE PARTNERSHIPS,THEIR TEAM ASSEMBLES OUR GIVT PRODUCTS, AND DIRECTLY SHIPS THEM TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WAREHOUSING. FROM THERE THE PRINCIPALS MANAGE AND MAINTAIN OUR PRODUCT OERING. THE NURSES ARE THE FRONT LINE OF OUR OPERATION AT EACH CLINIC. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF OUR MISSION AS THEY ARE THE ONES WHO ARE TRAINED AND CAN OER RESOURCES BEYOND HYGIENE. GIVT HAS BECOME A LINE ITEM NURSES REQUISITION THROUGH THEIR SYSTEM JUST LIKE BANDAGES OR TOILET PAPER. WE OER THREE PROGRAMS; PERIOD, CLEAN, AND BASIC. OUR PRODUCTS OER IMMEDIATE RELIEF FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO OBTAIN THESE ITEMS AT HOME. WE FEEL THAT BY SUPPLYING CHILDREN WITH THESE BASIC ESSENTIALS WE ARE REMOVING BARRIERS, IMPROVING SELF-WORTH, AND EMPOWERING THEM TO SUCCEED IN SCHOOL AND BEYOND. IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA HYGIENE ITEMS ARE CONSIDERED A LUXURY AND THEREFORE ARE NOT INCLUDED IN GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS. GOING WITHOUT THESE ITEMS CAN CAUSE LONG TERM HEALTH PROBLEMS AS WELL AS SELF-ESTEEM ISSUES IN SCHOOL AND CAUSE THEM TO WITHDRAW OR NOT APPLY THEMSELVES TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITY. ALL FEEDBACK FROM PRINCIPALS, NURSES, FACULTY, HEALTH CARE DISTRICT, ETC. HAVE ALL BEEN INCREDIBLY POSITIVE AND EYE OPENING. MANY TEARS, MUCH CONFIRMATION THAT THIS IS NEEDED, PERSONAL PHONE CALLS BEGGING FOR PRODUCTS. IT IS A DIRE NEED WE STUMBLED UPON AND A NEED WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO MEET WITH THE HELP OF OUR COMMUNITY, PARTNERSHIPS, AND FUNDERS.
