THE MISSION OF LIGHTUP IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES.

Part 3
THE LIGHTUP PROGRAM RUNS VARIOUS CAMPS AND ACTIVITIES FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES USING ADAPTIVE PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES. THEY TEACH BIKE RIDING, TEAM SPORTS, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES TO FOCUS ON MOTOR SKILLS AND TO HELP THEM BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES.THEY HELP ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES BUILD CARDOVASCULAR AND MUSCULAR STAMINA. WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THEIR COACH, THE ADULTS DEVELOP A PERSONALIZEED PHSICAL FITNESS ROUTINE THAT IS BOTH SUSTAINABLE AND ENJOYABLE. THEY ALSO HAVE PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS. SINCE THIS AFFECTS JUST 1% OF THE SCHOOL AGED POPULATION, THERE ARE A PAUCITY OF ADAPTED SPORT PROGRAMS AVAILABLE. THIS INCLUDES A VARIETY OF SPORTS SUCH AS GOAL BALL, BEEB BASEBALL, TANDEM BICYCLE RIDING, SWIMMING AND GYMNASTICS.
