Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
ROWDY GIRL SANCTUARY (RGS) PROVIDES SANCTUARY TO FARM ANIMALS AND PROMOTES A VEGAN LIFESTYLE. RGS SEEKS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON PLANT BASED FOOD OPTIONS, FACTORY FARMING PRACTICES, AND THE DEVASTATING IMPACT OF ANIMAL AGRICULTURE ON THE ENVIRONMENT.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
FARM ANIMAL SANTUARY - PROVIDES SANCTUARY AND LIFE LONG CARE TO 139 RESCUED FARM ANIMALS. IN 2021, RGS RESCUED 27 FARM ANIMALS.
THE GOAL OF THE RANCHER ADVOCACY PROGRAM (RAP) IS TO OFFER SUPPORT AND VIABLE SOLUTIONS TO RANCHERS TO TRANSITION TO PLANT-BASED AGRICULTURE. RANCHERS AND THEIR FAMILIES SOMETIMES BECOME FACED WITH THE FACT THAT DUE TO EMOTIONAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, ETHICAL, SOCIAL, OR FINANCIAL CONFLICTS, THEY NEED A PATH TO KEEP THEIR LAND BUT MOVE AWAY FROM UTILIZING ANIMALS FOR PROFIT. WE VALUE THE PROCESS OF BECOMING THEIR ALLIES FROM THE BEGINNING AND SUPPORTING THEIR EFFORTS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROCESS OF TRANSITIONING TO SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE. SHIFTING TO PLANT-BASED AGRICULTURE ALLOWS THEM PEACE OF MIND WHILE IMPACTING THE CONSUMERS, ANIMALS, AND OUR PLANET.
FAMILIES CHOOSING COMPASSION (FCC) PROGRAM BRINGS FAMILIES OF CHILDREN TOGETHER THAT PARTICIPATE IN FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA AND 4-H SCHOOL PROJECTS OF RAISING FARM ANIMALS; THAT ARE SADDENED BY THE END RESULT THAT LEADS TO THE SLAUGHTER OF THE ANIMALS RAISED AS SCHOOL PROJECTS. WE ARE NOT AN ANTAGONIST BUT RATHER A SUBSTITUTE AND SAFE HAVEN FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THAT CAN'T REMAIN DESENSITIZED TO THE "FOOD" ANIMAL STRUCTURE PREVALENT IN OUR EDUCATION SYSTEMS. WE AIM TO INSTILL A DEEPER AWARENESS AND APPRECIATION OF FARM ANIMALS AS UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS, WORTHY OF OUR LOVE AND RESPECT.
EDUCATION - ROWDY GIRL SANCTUARY EDUCATES THE PUBLIC BY OFFERING PUBLIC TOURS WHERE WE TELL OUR STORY, AND EDUCATE ON THE BENEFITS OF A PLANT-BASED DIET, THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS OF ANIMAL AGRICULTURE, AND ANIMAL ETHICS. WE ALSO HAVE SPECIAL EVENTS WHERE WE BRING IN EXPERTS IN VARIOUS FIELDS OF STUDY REGARDING A PLANT-BASED DIET, THE ENVIRONMENT, AND ANIMAL ETHICS. AND, OUR FOUNDER, RENEE KING-SONNEN IS INVITED TO SPEAK AROUND THE COUNTRY AND IN MANY PARTS OF THE WORLD REGARDING THE TRANSFORMATION OF THEIR FORMER CATTLE RANCH, THE RANCHER ADVOCACY PROGRAM, AND FAMILIES CHOOSING COMPASSION.
