PRINCIPAL PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING 2020 INCLUDE THE CONTINUING EXCAVATIONS IN THE VICINITY OF THE MEMORIAL CHURCH AND THE EASTERN BULWARK OF THE 1607 FORT, AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF THE LANDWARD AREA ADJACENT TO THE HISTORIC SEAWALL, PLANNING RELATED TO THE REPAIR AND ENHANCEMENT OF THE SEAWALL THAT INVOLVED GEOPHYSICAL ASSESSMENTS, INITIAL DESIGNS FOR TWO NEW EXHIBITS TO OPEN IN THE VOORHEES ARCHAEARIUM MUSEUM FEATURING (1) BIOARCHAEOLOGY AND (2) ARTIFACTS RELATED TO GENTLEMEN SOLDIERS OF EARLY JAMESTOWN, CONTINUING REORGANIZATION OF JAMESTOWN'S COLLECTIONS AND UPDATING OF THE DIGITAL CATALOG. IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, RESEARCH RELATED TO THE "ANGELA SITE" WHERE ONE OF THE FIRST ENSLAVED AFRICANS, A WOMAN CALLED ANGELA, LIVED FROM 1619, CONTINUED.ONSITE LIVING HISTORY PROGRAMS AND PUBLIC TOURS FOCUSED ON THE FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE FIRST AFRICANS IN ENGLISH AMERICA AS WELL AS RECENT ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERIES. IN COLLABORATION WITH THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION AND THE UNIVERSITY OF LEICESTER, UK, FORENSIC AND GENOMIC RESEARCH WAS PURSUED ON A HIGH STATUS INDIVIDUAL DISCOVERED IN THE CHANCEL OF THE 1617/18 CHURCH. ONSITE ARCHAEOLOGY, EXHIBITS, PUBLIC TOURS, PRESENTATIONS, AND LIVING HISTORY PROGRAMS WERE SUPPLEMENTED BY ONLINE MATERIALS INCLUDING FRESH WEB PAGES, VIDEOS, AND A 3D MODEL OF THE 1617/18 CHURCH.
