INCREASE ACCEPTANCE AND UNDERSTANDING OF BEAVERS TO SUPPORT A HEALTHIER AND MORE RESILIENT ECOSYSTEM.

Part 3 - Line 4a

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: PROVIDE SUPPORT TO LANDOWNERS AND LAND MANAGERS TO COEXIST WITH BEAVERS. INCLUDES 45 SITE VISITS TO NEW PROPERTIES, INSTALLATION OF 30 BEAVER COEXISTENCE DEVICES, AND CONTINUED MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE AT BOTH PUBLICLY AND PRIVATELY OWNED SITES.


TECHNICAL TRAINING AND CONSULTATION- PROVIDE SUPPORT TO OTHER AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS TO IMPROVE ACCEPTANCE OF BEAVERS AND TO FURTHER ADVANCE BEAVER RESEARCH AND COEXISTENCE PRACTICES. IN 2022, SERVED 8 SEPARATE ORGANIZATIONS AND GROUPS WITH RESTORATION CONSULTATION, POND LEVELER IMPLEMENTATION TRAINING, AND OTHER BEAVER RESEARCH PROJECTS.


OUTREACH AND EDUCATION- STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS LEAD OR PRESENTED AT 24 EVENTS SERVING 237 STUDENTS AND 425 ADULTS. EVENTS INCLUDE NATURE WALKS, FIELD TRIPS AND CLASSROOM VISITS, VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON LECTURES ALL OF WHICH FOCUS ON INCREASING ACCEPTANCE AND UNDERSTANDING OF BEAVERS AND THEIR BENEFITS.
