OUR PROGRAM ACTIVITIES ARE FOCUSED AROUND CONGENITAL CMV EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY. WE DELIVER EDUCATION ABOUT CONGENITAL CMV TO FAMILIES AND WOMEN OF CHILDBEARING AGE THROUGH DIGITAL PLATFORMS, STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS, PUBLIC HEALTH INITIATIVES, AND GRASSROOTS ADVOCACY EFFORTS. WE ADVOCATE FOR THE SCREENING OF NEWBORNS SO WE MAY PROPERLY EVALUATE AND IDENTIFY THESE BABIES TO ENROLL THEM IN THE PROPER TREATMENT AS STANDARD OF CARE. OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE CMV COMMUNITY ALLIANCE; CMV PARTNERSHIP ALLIANCE; EDUCATION & OUTREACH SERVICES TARGETING THE WOMEN OF CHILDBEARING AGE AND GENERAL PUBLIC, CHILDCARE PROVIDERS, AND HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS; ADVOCACY SUPPORT; AND EARLY CAREER RESEARCH AWARDS

PUBLIC HEALTH AWARENESS: THE NATIONAL CMV FOUNDATION CREATES AND DISSEMINATES HEALTH CONTENT REGARDING PREVENTION EDUCATION DURING PREGNANCY, MODES FOR TRANSMISSION, POSSIBLE OUTCOMES, NEWBORN SCREENING, TREATMENT OPTIONS, AND PUBLIC HEALTH POLICIES RELATED TO CONGENITAL CYTOMEGALOVIRUS (CMV) INFECTION. WE SHARE VITAL HEALTH INFORMATION WITH WOMEN OF CHILDBEARING AGE AND THEIR FAMILIES, CHILD CARE PROVIDERS, AND HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS THROUGH VARIOUS COMMUNICATION CHANNELS, INCLUDING WEB, EMAIL MARKETING, SOCIAL MEDIA, PAID MEDIA, PRINT, VIDEOS, TOOLKITS, EDUCATIONAL DOWNLOADS, AND CONTINUING EDUCATION ACTIVITIES.
RESEARCH SUPPORT: THE NATIONAL CMV FOUNDATION FUNDS YOUNG INVESTIGATORS AND EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS INTERESTED IN PURSUING RESEARCH ON MATERNAL OR CONGENITAL CMV INFECTION IN AREAS INCLUDING PUBLIC HEALTH, EPIDEMIOLOGY, DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT, OUTCOMES, BASIC SCIENCE, OR VACCINE DEVELOPMENT, TO FURTHER ITS MISSION, PROMOTE MATERNAL AND NEWBORN HEALTH, AND REDUCE THE RATE OF CONGENITAL CMV INCIDENCE IN THE UNITED STATES
