WE HAVE ONE PRIMARY PROGRAM SERVICE AREA: GRANT FUNDING TO THE UGANDAN NGO, "JAJJA'S KIDS - AFRICA". OUR PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSES ARE DEDICATED TO THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM ACTIVITIES EXECUTED THROUGH THAT ORGANIZATION: 1) THE PROGRAM IS BASED IN A HOME THAT HOUSES 20 CHILDREN, TWO LIVE-IN STAFF, AND OFFICE SPACE FOR FIVE OTHER STAFF. 2) MONTHLY EXPENSES IN SUPPORT OF THE HOME AND CHILDREN ARE PROVIDED. THESE EXPENSES INCLUDE: FOOD, UTILITIES, STAFF SALARIES, HOUSEHOLD SUPPLIES AND MEDICAL CARE. 3) SCHOOL COSTS ARE PAID FOR THE YEAR FOR ALL 20 CHILDREN AT THE HOUSE, RANGING IN EQUIVALENT LEVEL FROM SECOND TO TWELFTH GRADE. THE SCHOOL COSTS INCLUDE TUITION, UNIFORMS, BOOKS, SCHOOL BAGS, PENCILS, PAPER AND PORRIDGE. 4) THE HOUSE AND YARD NORMALLY ALSO SERVE AS A COMMUNITY CENTER ON WEEKENDS, WHERE CHILDREN ARE TRAINED IN ENGLISH, MUSIC AND DANCE, HAVE A SIMPLE MEAL, AND ENJOY USE OF THE HOUSE LIBRARY. THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM THAT EMANATES FROM THE HOME INCLUDES PERIODIC COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAYS AND ROAD IMPROVEMENTS. THESE ACTIVITIES WERE CURTAILED DURING 2020 DUE TO COVID. IN ADDITION TO THE HOME FOR 20 CHILDREN, THE PROGRAM ALSO SUPPORTS A STAFF OF SEVEN, WHO ARE GENERALLY THE SOLE PROVIDERS FOR THEIR FAMILIES.
