Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE MODEL ALLIANCE RESPONDED TO HUNDREDS OF CURRENT AND ASPIRING MODELS AND CREATIVE ARTISTS WITH WORK-RELATED CONCERNS, INCLUDING AGENCY ISSUES, LATE AND NON-PAYMENT, SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND ABUSE, AND VISA ISSUES THROUGH OUR SAFE AND SECURE SUPPORT LINE, MA SUPPORT. WHERE APPROPRIATE, WE CONNECTED WORKERS WITH TRUSTED JOURNALISTS TO HELP TELL THEIR STORIES AND MADE REFERRALS TO ATTORNEYS TO HELP EXPLORE THEIR LEGAL OPTIONS. OUR ORGANIZATION SUPPORTED A GROUP OF WOMEN WHO ARE SURVIVORS OF TRAFFICKING AND SEXUAL ABUSE IN THE MODELING INDUSTRY BY CONVENING VIRTUAL MEETINGS, ORGANIZING PRESS OPPORTUNITIES, RAISING AWARENESS FOR THEIR CASE ON SOCIAL MEDIA, AND CONNECTING THEM WITH VARIOUS OTHER RESOURCES. THROUGH EARNED MEDIA, NEWSLETTER COMMUNICATIONS, AND SOCIAL MEDIA, WE EDUCATED OUR COMMUNITY AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT EXPLOITATIVE PRACTICES IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY AND THE NEED FOR SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ABUSE TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEEK JUSTICE. OUR ADVOCACY HELPED TO CHAMPION THE ADULT SURVIVORS ACT IN NEW YORK, WHICH OPENED A ONE-YEAR WINDOW FOR ADULT SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ABUSE TO SEEK JUSTICE IN CIVIL COURT. THROUGH A SERIES OF LISTENING SESSIONS WITH MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY, WE DRAFTED AND INTRODUCED THE FASHION WORKERS ACT, OUR SIGNATURE BILL THAT WOULD CREATE BASIC LABOR PROTECTIONS FOR MODELS AND CONTENT CREATORS WORKING IN NEW YORK'S FASHION INDUSTRY.
