2021 VISION STATEMENT: WE WILL PROVIDE ONGOING, MEANINGFUL SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT MAY BE CHALLENGED BY CIRCUMSTANCE, INJUSTICE, HEALTH OR OTHER OBSTACLES PREVENTING THEM FROM REACHING THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. IN THE WORDS OF MR. RUBY, TO DO GOOD.OUR FIRST INITIATIVE IS TO REDUCE CHILDHOOD POVERTY BY STABILIZING THE MOST VULNERABLE AND VOLATILE SUBGROUP- ORPHANS AND CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE. THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM IS HORRIBLY STRAINED PAST THE POINT OF BURSTING, SO ANY POSITIVE CHANGES HERE HAVE HIGH ROI. WE HAVE IDENTIFIED SEVERAL OF THE MOST IMPACTFUL AND INNOVATIVE ORGANIZATIONS IN THE CITY MAKING A MEASURABLE, PERMANENT DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF VULNERABLE CHILDREN. GIVEN OUR RELATIVELY LOW FINANCIAL RESOURCES MOST OF OUR GRANTS HAVE BEEN SPONSORSHIPS FOR THESE ORGANIZATIONS FUNDRAISERS TO HELP THEM FUEL THEIR INITIATIVES THAT ARE ALREADY WORKING.WE HAVE ALSO BEEN SUPPORTING PREVENTATIVE MEASURES IN THE REALM OF CHILDHOOD POVERTY AND FOSTER CARE BY SUPPORTING COALITION OF CARE LOCALLY AS WELL AS CARE PORTAL AND SAFE FAMILIES. INVESTING IN PREVENTION PRODUCES THE BEST ROI IN THIS SPACE.STRATEGIC THOUGHT AND ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS IN MULTIPLE STATES INCLUDING GOVERNORS AND SENATORS HAVE PRODUCED SIGNIFICANT PARTNERSHIPS AND STRATEGIES THAT MIGHT JUST SOLVE SOME OF THE MAJOR PROBLEMS WE ARE TRYING TO ADDRESS.
