RI INITIATIVE WHICH WAS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT OF 4 YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS WORKING WITH YOUTH WHO ARE MOST IMPACTED BY VIOLENCE AND AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE MOVEMENT TO CREATE SAFER COMMUNITIES. YES! RI HAS WORKED WITH THESE GROUPS TO TRAIN YOUTH IN PEACE AND DE-ESCALATION STRATEGIES, REGISTER HUNDREDS OF YOUTH TO VOTE, ADVOCATE FOR INCREASED SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT IN SCHOOLS, AND MENTOR A NEW GENERATION OF LEADERS. THE YOUTH WORKED WITH THE ACLU OF RI TO CREATE AND DISTRIBUTE HUNDREDS OF COPIES OF THE "STUDENT POWER HANDBOOK".
