BUILD THE MOVEMENT: WE ENHANCE THE CONNECTION OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS TO THE CONSUMER, VOLUNTEER, INVESTOR, AND NONPROFIT BOARD MEMBER THROUGH OUR ONLINE MARKETPLACE, A LISTING OF CENTRAL OHIO SOCIAL ENTERPRISES AND THEIR PRODUCTS, SERVICES, AND IMPACT. WE EXPAND PUBLIC AWARENESS AND SUPPORT OF SOCIAL ENTERPRISE THROUGH PUBLIC SPEAKING, MONTHLY COLUMNS IN THE METROPRENEUR, BLOGS AND SOCIAL MEDIA. WE ALSO PUBLISH AN ANNUAL REPORT, THE STATE OF SOCIAL ENTERPRISE IN CENTRAL OHIO.
BUILD THE MOVEMENT: WE OFFER ACCELERATORS, WORKSHOPS, AND PROGRAMS TO GIVE ENTREPRENEURS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ADVICE TO HELP THEIR BUSINESSES THRIVE. WE ALSO PROVIDE FREE CONSULTING ONE AFTERNOON PER WEEK AND MATCH ENTREPRENEURS WITH MENTORS.
IMPROVE ACCESS TO CAPITAL: THROUGH INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS AND PRESENTATIONS AND THROUGH THE COLUMBUS FUNDS SERIES OF WORKSHOPS WITH THE SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER, WE INTRODUCE SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS TO IMPACT INVESTING BASICS AND APPROPRIATE SOURCES OF CAPITAL (ANGEL AND EARLY-STAGE INVESTORS). WE MANAGE PRO BONO THE SOCIAL VENTURES FUND, LLC, A MEMBER- BASED PRIVATE FUND FOR ACCREDITED INDIVIDUALS, COMPANIES, AND FOUNDATIONS.
