PITTIES AND PALS SUMMER BASH --------------------------- THIS IS ONE OF THE TWO MAJOR EVENTS WE HOLD ANNUALLY. DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC THE OTHER EVENT WAS CANCELLED DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS. THE EVENT WAS HELD AT THE MOLLY PITCHER INN IN REDBANK, NJ. ALL FUNDS RAISED WENT TO SUPPORT THE DOGS UNDER THE RESCUE CARRE INCLUDING KENNEL FEES, ANIMAL MEDICAL CARE,ANIMAL FOOD AND SUPPLIES.$17,985 WAS RAISED THROUGH THIS EVENT.FUNDRAISING EXPENSES WERE $9,387.
PITTIES AND PALS RESCUE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM ------------------------------------------ AS AN ENTIRELY VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION,PITTIES AND PALS RESCUE PRIDES ITSELF ON THE QUALITY OF ITS VOLUNTEER PROGRAM. APPROXIMATELY 75 VOLUNTEERS HELP WITH ALL FACETS OF THE RESCUE FROM EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING,SOCIAL MEDIA ADMINISTRATIVE WORK AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WITH THE DOGS.VOLUNTEERS ARE TRAINED BY MORE EXPERIENCED VOLUNTEERS AND WORK IN TEAMS AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. A SUPLEMENTAL INSURANCE POLICY COVERING INJURIES TO VOLUNTEERS WAS PURCHASED TO HELP INSURE THEIR SAFETY. IN 2021, APPROXIMATELY 30,000 VOLUNTEER HOURS MADE THE WORK OF PITTIES AND PALS RESCUE POSSIBLE.
PITTIES AND PALS RESCUE ADOPTION PROGRAM ---------------------------------------- THE PITTIES AND PALS ADOPTION PROGRAM FOUND HOMES FOR 33 DOGS IN 2021. WITH APPROXIMATELY 90% OF THE DOGS COMING FROM LOCAL AREA SHELTERS- PITTIES AND PALS IS HELPING TO REDUCE THE EUTHANASIA RATES ON THESE ORGANIZATIONS. THE MAJORITY OF THE ANIMALS WERE STRAYS OR ABANDONED AND COME TO PITTIES AND PALS WITH NO HISTORY. THE VOLUNTEERS HELP TO LEARN MORE ABOUT EACH OF THEM DURING THEIR DAILY CARE, WHICH IS HELPFUL WHEN CREATING A PROFILE AND IN FINDING THE BEST MATCH FOR THER FOREVER HOMES. THE REMAINING 10% COME FROM OWNER SURRENDERS- FAMILIES WHO DETERMINE THEY CAN NO LONGER CARE FOR THEIR PETS. THESE PETS COME WITH A FULL HISTORY MAKING THE MATCH TO A NEW FOREVER HOME MUCH EASIER. ALL OF THE DOGS THAT COME TO PITTIES AND PALS RECEIVE A COMPLETE MEDICAL EXAM, ARE SPAYED OR NEUTERED, IF NEEDED,VACCINATED AND MICROCHIPPED -ALL PRIOR TO ADOPTION. ADDITIONALLY, ANY THAT PRESENT WITH HEALTH CONCERNS(SPECIAL NEEDS) OR BEHAIVOR CHALLENGES ARE PROVIDED THE ADDITIONAL CARE NEEDED TO HELP THEM OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES ENSURING THE DOGS ARE IN TEH BEST SHAPE POSSIBLE FOR THEIR NEW FAMILIES.
PITTIES AND PALS RESCUE HOWL-A-WEEN FUNDRAISER THIS EVENT WAS HELD AT THE HEADLINER CLUB IN NEPTUNE CITY AS AN AFTERNOON HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST AND FUNDRAISER. ALL FUNDS RAISED WERE USED TO SUPPORT THE DOGS UNDER THE RESCUE'S CARE INCLUDING KENNEL FEES,MEDICAL CARE,FOOD AND SUPPLIES. $10,725 WAS RAISED.EXPENSES WERE $4,550.
