CYPRESS JUNCTION MONTESSORI, A PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL, OPENED FOR THE 2016-17 SCHOOL YEAR. THE SCHOOL SERVED STUDENTS FROM THREE YEARS OLD TO EIGHTH GRADE FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR. CYPRESS JUNCTION MONTESSORI ALSO OFFERED A BEFORE AND AFTER CARE PROGRAM AVAILABLE TO CHILDREN THE SAME AGES AS THE SCHOOL SERVED DURING THE YEAR. THE MAIN SOURCE OF FUNDING FOR THE SCHOOL IS FROM THE FLORIDA EDUCATION FINANCE PROGRAM. THERE WERE 194 K-8 STUDENTS IN ATTENDANCE FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR. MONTESSORI EDUCATION IS A METHOD OF EDUCATION THAT IS BASED ON SELF-DIRECTED ACTIVITY, HANDS ON LEARNING AND COLLABORATIVE PLAY. IN MONTESSORI CHILDREN MAKE CREATIVE CHOICES IN THEIR LEARNING, WHILE THE CLASSROOM AND TEACHER OFFER AGE-APPROPRIATE ACTIVITIES TO GUIDE THE PROCESS. CHILDREN WORK IN GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALLY TO DISCOVER AND EXPLORE KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORLD AND TO DEVELOP THEIR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL. PRESCHOOL PROGRAM - THIS IS A TUITION BASED PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE SCHOOL. THE PROGRAM HAS A CAPACITY TO ENROLL THIRTY FOUR (34) THREE TO FOUR YEAR OLDS WITH A STAFF OF THREE TEACHERS. THIS PROGRAM OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES TO OUR PRESCHOOLERS FOR IMAGINATIVE EXPLORATION LEADING TO CONFIDENT AND CREATIVE SELF EXPRESSION.
