THE PEDC OPERATES THE PETERSBURG COMMUNITY COLD STORAGE (PCCS). THIS IS A PUBLIC FACILITY PROVIDING FREEZING AND STORAGE SPACE TO ENTREPRENEURS IN THE SEAFOOD INDUSTRY. THE OUTCOMES ARE INCREASED SEAFOOD LANDINGS IN OUR COMMUNITY, ADDITIONAL JOBS, AND REVENUE.
SCOW BAY VESSEL WORKYARD - PEDC IS LEADING DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS FOR A PUBLIC WORKYARD FOR SMALL COMMERCIAL AND RECREATIONAL VESSELS AT SCOW BAY. THE WORKYARD IS ANTICIPATED TO CREATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION IN THE MARINE SERVICE INDUSTRY AND CREATE NEW LONG-TERM MARINE TRADE JOBS IN THE COMMUNITY.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - PEDC SUPPORTS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS, SPECIFICALLY DEVELOPMENT OF A LOCAL FARMER'S MARKET. THE MARKET ACTS AS A BUSINESS INCUBATOR ALLOWING ENTREPRENEURS TO TRY OUT PRODUCTS. ECONOMIC SUPPORT GRANTS - PEDC CONTINUES TO PROVIDED SMALL GRANTS TO LOCAL BUSINESSES AFFECTED BY THE STATE ORDERED CLOSURE OF NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES DUE TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY ORIGINATING IN MARCH/APRIL 2020.
