Part 3 - Line 4a
IN 2021, DUE TO THE MANDATES SURROUNDING COVID-19, HONOR FLIGHT MAINE VOTED TO NOT FLY IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE SAFETY OF THE VETERANS SERVED. AS A WAY TO REMAIN ENGAGED WITH OUR VETERANS, WE PARTICIPATED IN DRIVE-BY PARADES FOR BIRTHDAYS, HOLIDAYS, AND OTHER MILESTONE EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF MAINE. BOARD MEMBERS ACTIVELY CONTACTED VETERANS ON OUR WAITING LIST AND PROSPECTIVE VETERANS AND PROVIDED UPDATES AS INFORMATION WAS RECEIVED FROM HONOR FLIGHT NETWORK HEADQUARTERS. WE UTILIZED SOCIAL MEDIA AS AN OUTREACH TO KEEP VETERANS, VOLUNTEERS, AND OUR COMMUNITIES UP TO DATE.
