IN 2021, HUMANITARIAN SOCIAL INNOVATIONS WAS A FISCAL SPONSOR TO 42 PROGRAMS LOCALLY, NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY. A NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT FOR 2021 HAS BEEN THE IMPACT OF HSI PROGRAMS MOUNTAIN BIKE AFGHANISTAN AND AFGHAN AMERICAN FOUNDATION. IN RESPONSE TO THE TALIBAN TAKEOVER OF AFGHANISTAN, MOUNTAIN BIKE AFGHANISTAN PARTNERED WITH HUMAN RIGHTS FOUNDATION TO EVACUATE THEIR NOW-VULNERABLE FEMALE CYCLISTS AND THE MALE CYCLISTS WHO SPOKE OUT FOR GENDER EQUALITY. 35 SOULS IN TOTAL HAVE BEEN EVACUATED TO SAFETY. AFGHAN AMERICAN FOUNDATION IS DEEPLY INVOLVED IN RESETTLEMENT AND ADVOCACY FOR AFGHAN REFUGEES ACROSS THE US. ALSO NOTABLE IS THE GROWING IMPACT OF HSI PROGRAM, AFROS IN NATURE. THEY ARE WORKING TO BUILD A DEEPER CONNECTION FOR BIPOC WITH NATURE, A TRADITIONALLY WHITE-DOMINATED ENVIRONMENT, IN AND AROUND THE CITY OF ALLENTOWN, PA.
