THIRTY PERCENT (30%): IDENTIFYING AND CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLABORATION BETWEEN KEY STAKEHOLDERS FROM MILITARY, INDUSTRY, AND GOVERNMENT THAT IMPROVES THE LIVES OF OUR NATION'S VETERANS. THIS WILL BE DONE ON AN ONGOING BASIS BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND BY INDIVIDUALS CONTRACTED TO LEAD NORTH CAROLINA VETERANS FOUNDATION INTIATIVES


THIRTY PERCENT (30%): WORKING WITH SENIOR MILITARY OFFICERS, INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES, AND ELECTED OFFICIALS AT THE STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL TO PROMOTE PROGRAMS THAT BROADEN ACCESS TO SERVICES FOR VETERANS. THIS INCLUDES BEING A RESOURCE FOR APOLITICAL AND UNBIASED DESCRIPTIONS OF VETERANS' MOST PRESSING POST-SERVICE NEEDS AND THE MOST PROMISING WAYS TO ADDRESS THEM


THIRTY PERCENT (30%): HOSTING EVENTS THAT BRING TOGETHER KEY STAKEHOLDERS FROM MILITARY, INDUSTRY, AND GOVERNMENT TO IDENTIFY AND IMPLEMENT SOLUTIONS TO WORKFORCE CHALLENGES FACED BY TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS. EXAMPLES OF THESE EVENTS INCLUDE THE NORTH CAROLINA VETERANS' TRANSITIONS ROUNDTABLE (DESCRIBED ABOVE) AND NORTH CAROLINA VETERANS FOUNDATION BOARD MEETINGS


TEN PERCENT (10%): ADVISING CRITICAL RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC EFFORTS SUPPORTING VETERANS' WORKFORCE, FINANCIAL, AND MEDICAL NEEDS. THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE ADVISING NORTH CAROLINA'S UNIVERSITIES AND COMMUNITY COLLEGES IN THEIR EFFORTS TO DEVELOP PROGRAMMING TARGETED AT VETERANS, IN ADDITION TO ADVISING INDIVIDUAL RESEARCH PROJECTS DIRECTLY RELEVANT TO VETERANS
