OUR MISSION IS TO RAISE AWARENESS THROUGH COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS OF ANIMAL OVERPOPULATION, DISEASE CONTROL, AND PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR VETERINARY SERVICES IN ORDER TO HELP ABANDONED AND NEGLECTED ANIMALS IN KANSAS CITY AND IT'S SURROUNDING AREA.

ADOPTION PROGRAM: ALL ANIMALS ARE FULLY VETTED PRIOR TO ADOPTION. ADVERTISING IS DONE MOSTLY ON SOCIAL MEDIA. POTENTIAL DONORS FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION THAT IS REVIEWED BY BOTH THE ANIMAL'S FOSTER AND THE ADOPTION COORDINATOR. WE VALIDATE THAT ALL ANIMALS LIVING IN THE HOME OF THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER HAVE BEEN FULLY VETTED. WE ALSO VALIDATE THAT THE LANDLORD IS AWARE OF THE ADOPTION AND THEY APPROVE OF THE ANIMAL. WE MEET WITH POTENTIAL ADOPTER TO ENSURE THAT THEIR CURRENT PETS GET ALONG WITH THE NEW PET. WE THEN COLLECT THE ADOPTION FEE AND FOLLOW-UP A WEEK LATER TO ENSURE THAT EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL.
OUTREACH PROGRAM: WE EDUCATE AND BUILD TRUSTING RELATIONSHIPS WITH PET OWNERS TO PROVIDE A BETTER FUTURE FOR ANIMALS IN THE COMMUNITY. WE OWNERS TO PROVIDE A BETTER FUTURE FOR ANIMALS IN THE COMMUNITY. WE PROVIDE GENERAL MEDICAL CARE, APPROPRIATE HOUSING/SHELTER, LIGHTWEIGHT CABLE TIE-OUT TO REPLACE HEAVY CHAINS, FOOD AND WATER TO THOSE IN NEED, AS WELL AS LOW-TO-NO COST SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES. FINALLY, WE PROVIDE TEMPORARY FOSTER HOMES FOR ABANDONED, SURRENDERED, NEGLECTED, AND/OR ABUSED ANIMALS. ALL ANIMALS TAKEN IN BY THE RESCUE PROJECT ARE VETTED AS FOLLOWS: SPAY OR NEUTER, RABIES VACCINE, DISTEMPER PARVO VACINE, BORDETELLA VACCINE, MICROCHIP, HEARTWORM TESTED AND TREATED AS NEEDED, AND MONTHLY FLEA/TICK PREVENTATIVE.
