CREATE PUBLIC WILL AND MOTIVATION TO HELP ELIMINATE THE ROOT CAUSES OF POVERTY AND ADOPT PUBLIC POLICIES PROVEN TO REDUCE POVERTY AND ITS IMPACT ON FAMILIES. THE PLANNED LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS AND LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: INCREASED FUNDING FOR NEBRASKA'S SCHOOL DISTRICT PRE-K PROGRAMS, THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EARLY CHILDHOOD DATA GOVERNANCE BODY; EXPANSION OF THE ELIGIBILITY LEVEL FOR FAMILIES TO RECEIVE THE CHILD CARE SUBSIDY; THE PILOT OF A KINDERGARTEN ASSESSMENT TOOL AND EVALUATION; AND ADDRESSING ANY RELATED LEGISLATION THAT FURTHERS THE EXEMPT PURPOSE TO SUPPORT BUDGET AND POLICY DECISIONS TO REDUCE CHILDHOOD POVERTY AND IMPROVE PROSPERITY FOR NEBRASKA FAMILIES.
