GIVING CIRCLES FUND - RECOGNIZING THAT AFFORDABILITY, KNOWLEDGE AND IMPACT CAN BE A BARRIER TO ENTRY FOR MANY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GIVE BACK, GCF PROVIDES RESOURCES AND AN INNOVATIVE ONLINE PLATFORM THAT EMPOWERS PHILANTHROPISTS AT ANY LEVEL TO GIVE COLLABORATIVELY AND AMPLIFY THE IMPACT OF THEIR GIVING. STAFF TIME IS USED DEVELOPING EDUCATIONAL CONTENT THAT ALLOWS CIRCLE MEMBERS TO REFINE AND GROW THEIR PHILANTHROPIC STRATEGY AND ENGAGING CIRCLE LEADERS TO HELP THEM NAVIGATE THE ONLINE PLATFORM AND GROW THEIR CIRCLES.


BUILDING THE ACADEMIC FIELD - IN 2017, THE FOUNDATION MASSIVELY EXPANDED ITS CASE LIBRARY OFFERINGS - INCLUDING ACCOMPANYING TEACHING NOTES AND ACTIVITY GUIDES. ADDITIONALLY, TIME IS SPENT CO-HOSTING MAJOR CONFERENCES AND EVENTS, AS WELL AS ENGAGING WITH INDIVIDUALS TO FURTHER THE ACADEMIC FIELD AND DRAW ATTENTION TO THE IMPORTANCE OF PHILANTHROPY AS AN AREA OF ACADEMIC STUDY.


MOOC - THE FOUNDATION IS DEVELOPING AND IMPROVING MULTIPLE MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE COURSES ("MOOCS"). THE MOOCS EMPOWER GIVERS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO MAKE THE MOST OF WHATEVER THEY HAVE TO GIVE-MONEY, TIME, EXPERTISE, NETWORKS AND PASSION. STUDENTS ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM A VARIETY OF PHILANTHROPIC EXPERTS AND PRACTICE THEIR NEW SKILLS THROUGH INTEGRATED VOLUNTEERING AND ACTUAL GRANTMAKING EXPERIENCES.


INFORMING PRACTICE - THE FOUNDATION SHARES BEST PRACTICES ON GIVING EFFECTIVELY THROUGH A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT CHANNELS, INCLUDING PUBLIC SPEAKING, MASS MEDIA AND ACADEMIC PUBLICATIONS AS WELL AS PROVIDING PRO-BONO ADVISING TO INDIVIDUALS, FOUNDATIONS AND COMPANIES. AUDIENCES RANGE FROM SOCIAL SECTOR EXECUTIVES TO HIGH NET WORTH DONORS AS WELL AS FROM TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURS AND THEIR COMPANIES TO "CITIZEN PHILANTHROPISTS."
