OLDHAM COUNTY COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS WAS INCORPORATED IN AUGUST 2013 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS RESIDING IN OLDHAM COUNTY, KENTUCKY. THE ORGANIZATION ENGAGES SPONSORS WHO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE STUDENTS RANGING FROM 500 TO 5000. IN ADDITION, DONATIONS ARE RAISED THROUGH FUNDRAISERS OR INDIVIDUAL DONORS AND AGGREGATED INTO SCHOLARSHIPS. SCHOLARSHIP SPONSORS IDENTIFY A SET OF CRITERIA UPON WHICH THE FUNDS WILL BE AWARDED. APPLICATIONS ARE TAKEN DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY. APPLICATIONS ARE SCORED THROUGH A BLIND SCORING METHOD AND RECIPIENTS ARE SLECTED BASED UPON THE HIGHEST SCORE MATCHING THE SPONSOR'S CRITERIA. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED IN MAY.
