THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ARTISANS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES TO EARN INCOME BY BRINGING THEIR PRODUCTS AND STORIES TO OUR MARKETS THROUGH LONG-TERM FAIR TRADING RELATIONSHIPS. THE ORGANIZATION SELLS MERCHANDISE, SUBSTANTIALLY ALL OF WHICH HAS BEEN HAND- CRAFTED BY PERSONS OF LOW-INCOME, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE INCREASED SELF- EMPLOYMENT AND A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR LOW-INCOME PERSONS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE GOAL IS TO RAISE THE PUBLIC'S AWARENESS OF AND CONCERN FOR ECONOMIC JUSTICE FOR THE POOR IN IMPOVERISHED PARTS OF THE WORLD, AND FOR SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY WHICH PROTECTS THE ENVIRONMENT.
