GROUNDED IN AFRICAN DIASPORIC PERSPECTIVES, BROWNBODY'S MISSION IS TO BUILD ARTISTIC EXPERIENCES THAT DISRUPT BIASED NARRATIVES AND PROMPT AUDIENCES TO ENGAGE AS ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN THE JOURNEY. BROWNBODY ACCOMPLISHES THIS THROUGH A BLEND OF MODERN DANCE, THEATER, SOCIAL JUSTICE AND FIGURE SKATING.

LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM - INCREASED NUMBER OF YOUTH AND ADULT SKATERS PARTICIPATING IN OUR PROGRAM. SERVED OVER 60 SKATERS EVEN WITHOUT HAVING THE SPRING SESSION BECAUSE OF THE COVID PANDEMIC. WE PROVIDED A 8 WEEK SESSION AT ST. PAUL RINKS ON SATURDAYS AND A EIGHT WEEK SESSION IN NORTH ST. PAUL WITH A PARTNERSHIP WITH THESCHOOL DISTRICT 622. THIS WAS A FIRST PARTNERSHIP WITH A SCHOOL DISTRICT. PRODUCTION/PERFORMANCES - INCREASED ARTISTIC TEAM BY 5 POSITIONS SUCH AS PRODUCTION MANAGER AND TECHNICAL. DIRECTOR. STARTED PROCESS IN 2021 TO SETUP TOURING OPPORTUNITES IN 2022. ADAPTED OUR WORK STYLE TO ALLOW ARTISTIC WORK TO BE CREATED WITH MORE TIME AND RESOURCES. THE INTEGRATION OF STREAMING TECHNOLOGY AND DANCE IS NEW. APPRENTICE - CREATION OF PROGRAM AS A STEPPING STONE TO FUTURE COLLABORATIONS WITH BROWNBODY BY UTILIZING SKATING APPRENTICES WHO ARE SEEKING TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE WORK THAT BROWNBODY DOES.
