WE EDUCATE AND TRAIN WOMEN IN HONDURAS THROUGH A TWO YEAR RESIDENTIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM THAT CULMINATES WITH AN ACCREDITED TERTIARY CERTIFICATION IN ENGLISH, LEADERSHIP, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. WE SUPPORT GRADUATES' PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS IN PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP, UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANTS, AND BUSINESS STARTUP LOANS.

THE LEADERSHIP CENTER IS AN EDUCATION CENTER FOR 60 UNDERPRIVILEGED WOMEN EACH YEAR TO TRAIN AND STUDY ENGLISH, ETHICAL LEADERSHIP, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. STUDENTS LIVE AND STUDY ON CAMPUS FOR TWO YEARS. THE SCHOOL PROVIDES CLASS MATERIALS, HOUSING, HEALTHCARE, AND OTHER BASIC NEEDS. AFTER COMPLETION OF STUDIES, AN INTERNSHIP, BUSINESS STARTUP, FURTHER EDUCATION, OR COMMUNITY PROJECTS, IF APPROVED, MAY BE AT LEAST PARTIALLY FUNDED BY THE LEADERSHIP CENTER. THE COSTS ABOVE INCLUDE ALL OF THE COSTS FOR HOUSING, ACADEMIC MATERIALS, INSTRUCTION, TEACHERS, AND OTHER OPERATIONS NECESSARY.
REMAINING PROGRAM EXPENSES INCLUDE GRADUATE ADVANCEMENT PROGRAMS IN THE AREAS OF PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANTS, UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS, AND MICRO-FINANCE BUSINESS STARTUP LOANS.
NEW CONSTRUCTION, FACILITIES, VEHICLES, TRANSPORTATION, & UTILITIES: IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN LIFE ON LMI'S RURAL, 150+ ACRE CAMPUS, BUILDINGS FOR HOUSING, COOKING, EATING, AND LIVING FOR STAFF AND STUDENTS ARE NECESSARY. WE REFURBISHED A FEW BUILDINGS THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF ROOF AND PILLAR DECAY. THIS ALSO COVERS THE COST OF ALL UTILITIES INCLUDING ELECTRICITY, WIFI, OUR MASSIVE WATER SYSTEM, AND SEWAGE. ALSO, THIS INCLUDES ALL VEHICLES THAT BRING PEOPLE AND RESOURCES BACK AND FORTH TO CAMPUS.
FOOD, AG & ANIMALS - SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMS: AS PART OF LMI'S STRATEGIC PLAN, THE ORGANIZATION HAS DEVELOPED ROBUST SUSTAINABILITY SYSTEMS FOR FOOD ON CAMPUS AND FOR THE RESALE OF PRODUCTS TO NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES. THIS INCLUDES A COFFEE FARM, PASSIONFRUIT PLANTATION, MASSIVE VEGETABLE GARDENS, CHICKENS, PIGS, COWS, AND THE LABOR BOTH FOR GROWING FOOD, CARING FOR ANIMALS, PREPARING FOOD, AND MAINTAINING THESE SYSTEMS.
