IN 2023, IANGEL SECURED OVER 1,075 HOURS OF DONATED LEGAL SERVICES TO ADVANCE GENDER JUSTICE THROUGH EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND ENGAGEMENT OF PRO BONO LEGAL RESOURCES. OUR 2023 PROJECTS INCLUDED (1) SUPPORTING UNDERGROUND EDUCATION FOR GIRLS AND WOMEN IN AFGHANISTAN, (2) WORKING WITH BERKELEY LAW'S REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE PROJECT TO DEVELOP A CURRICULUM TO TEACH TEENS ABOUT THEIR REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS IN THE POST-ROE ERA, (3) PARTNERING WITH AFGHAN WOMENS HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS AND ATTORNEYS FROM A MAJOR INTERNATIONAL LAW FIRM ON AN INNOVATIVE LEGAL RESEARCH PROJECT TO ANALYZE THE TALIBANS EDICTS AS VIOLATIONS OF INTERNATIONAL LAW AND DRIVE NEW POLICY ADVOCACY FOR THE WORLD COMMUNITY, AND (4) OUR BRIDGE (BUILDING REAL INTERACTIONS DRIVING GENDER EQUALITY) PROJECT, WHERE WE ENGAGE AFGHAN WOMEN LAWYERS AND HUMAN RIGHTS SCHOLARS IN A UNIQUE PLATFORM FOR SHARING, CONNECTION, AND EMPOWERMENT TO DRIVE CHANGE IN AFGHANISTAN; IANGEL ALSO COMPLETED 24 ADVOCACY ACTIONS AND HOSTED FOUR EDUCATIONAL EVENTS, INCLUDING AN INTERNATIONAL PANEL DISCUSSION ON ADVANCING GENDER EQUALITY IN THE DIGITAL AGE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MEETING OF THE UN COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN.
