THE SEQUOIAS-SAN FRANCISCO RESIDENT ASSOCIATION (THE ASSOCIATION) IS AN ORGANIZATION MADE UP OF ALL RESIDENTS OF THE SEQUOIAS SAN FRANCISCO, A CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY (CCRC) OWNED BY NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PRESBYTERIAN HOMES AND SERVICES (NCPHS), AN INTERNAL REVENUE CODE SECTION 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION. SINCE ITS INCEPTION, THE ASSOCIATION HAS BEEN ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE PLEASURE, RECREATION AND OTHER NON-PROFITABLE PURPOSES FOR RESIDENTS OF THE CCRC. THE ASSOCIATION IS OPEN TO ALL RESIDENTS AND DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST ANY PERSON BASED ON RACE, COLOR, RELIGION OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION.

THE ASSOCIATION SPONSORS VARIOUS ACTIVITIES THAT FURTHER ENRICH THE LIVES OF THE RESIDENTS, TYPICALLY THROUGH EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL, SPIRITUAL OR PHYSICAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS. THE ASSOCIATION STAFFS THE LIBRARY OF THE CCRC AND PURCHASES NEW BOOKS, DVD'S AND NEWSPAPERS FOR A MAIN LIBRARY AND A FINE ARTS LIBRARY. GROUP PARTICIPATION IS PROMOTED IN ARTS AND CRAFTS. MUSIC, MOVIES AND DRAMATIC ENTERTAINMENT ARE PROVIDED AND THE ASSOCIATION SPONSORS LECTURES ON A WIDE VARIETY OF ART, TRAVEL, HEALTH AND OTHER TOPICS FOR THE RESIDENTS. ECUMENICAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AND RESIDENTS OPERATE A WORKSHOP FOR REPAIRS TO FURNITURE AND LAMPS OF THE RESIDENTS AS WELL AS A SEWING ROOM FOR ALTERATIONS AND CREATION OF SMALL ITEMS WHICH ARE OFFERED FOR SALE IN A RESIDENT STAFFED GIFT SHOP ADMINISTERED BY NCPHS, EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2015. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PARTICIPATES IN VARIOUS NEIGHBORHOOD ACTIVITIES AND SENIORS ORGANIZATIONS.
