TO RAISE FUNDS FOR NEPHCURE, A LEADING NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO ADVANCING RESEARCH AND ADVOCATING FOR INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH FSGS AND NEPHROTIC SYNDROME.

THE HOPEWILL FOUNDATION (F/K/A OLD FLORIDA FEDERATION) HOSTS THE ANNUAL "TAMPA PIG JIG", AN EVENT THAT RAISES FUNDS FOR NEPHCURE, WHOSE MISSION IS TO EMPOWER PEOPLE WITH RARE, PROTEIN-SPILLING KIDNEY DISEASE TO TAKE CHARGE OF THEIR HEALTH, WHILE LEADING THE REVOLUTION IN RESEARCH, NEW TREATMENTS, AND CARE.THE PIG JIG WAS CREATED BY A GROUP OF LIFELONG FRIENDS IN RESPONSE TO LEARNING THAT ONE OF THEIR OWN WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE RARE KIDNEY DISEASE FOCAL SEGMENTAL GLOMERULOSCLEROSIS (FSGS). THERE IS NO KNOWN CURE FOR THIS DISEASE AND SINCE ITS INCEPTION, THE TAMPA PIG JIG AND THE HOPEWILL FOUNDATION HAVE DONATED MORE THAN $5,000,000 TO NEPHCURE TO FUND THE RESEARCH NECESSARY IN FINDING A CURE. THE TAMPA PIG JIG ALSO PROVIDES A WAY FOR PATIENTS TO CONNECT THROUGH ITS "PATIENT SOCIALS". RARE KIDNEY DISEASE CAN FEEL ISOLATING AND THE PATIENT SOCIAL AT THE TAMPA PIG JIG BRINGS PATIENTS TOGETHER FROM AROUND THE NATION, HELPING THEM TO FEEL LESS ALONE IN THEIR FIGHT.
