HOWLING FOR WOLVES 2023 ACTIVITIESTHROUGHOUT 2023 HFW COMMUNICATED THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA, WEBSITE AND EMAILS NEWS ON WOLVES AND JOINED THE ENDANGERED SPECIES COALITION TO ADVOCATE FOR WOLVES AND OTHER WILDLIFE. HFW PARTICIPATED IN MEDIA INTERVIEWS AND ASSISTED WITH LETTER WRITING BY SUPPORTERS TO OPPOSE CAMPAIGNS TO HUNT WOLVES IN ORDER TO PROTECT DEER AND DEER HUNTING. HFW DIALOGGED WITH MN USDA WILDLIFE SERVICES TO PROMOTE NONLETHAL METHODS WITH SPECIFIC LIVESTOCK PRODUCERS. CONTINUED THE WOLF FORGIVENESS BONUS PROGRAM TO PAY FARMERS WHO EXPERIENCED PROBABLE WOLF CONFLICTS (USUALLY WITH CALVES) FOR THEIR TROUBLE AND IN EXCHANGE FOR THEM NOT HAVING THE WOLF BAITED TRAPPED AND KILLED.JANUARY 2023, HFW ATTENDED THE ANNUAL DNR ROUND TABLE THAT WAS LIMITED TO A FEW OUTSIDE ENTITIES. HFW INTERACTED WITH MULTIPLE AGENCIES AND NGO REPRESENTATIVES TO INFORM ABOUT THE WOLF HUNTS HISTORY AND ADVERSE EFFECTS.MAY 2023 LAUNCHED PAID MEDIA CAMPAIGN WITH BILLBOARDS AND RADIO ADS TO EMPHASIZE THAT WOLVES KEEP OUR WILDERNESS WILD.JULY 2023, HOWLING FOR WOLVES PURCHASED GUARD DOG PUPS FOR A FARMER IN WOLF TERRITORY IN WI AND SHOWED THEIR PROGRESS IN TRAINING AND DUTIES TO THE PUBLIC THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA.AUGUST 2023, HFW ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES (DNR) ALL DAY EVENT ON THE WOLF PLAN WITH FOCUS ON IMPLEMENTATION AND REVIEW BY THE WOLF TECHNICAL GROUP IN BAXTER, MN. HFW CONTINUED TO ADVOCATE FOR NONLETHAL PLANS, BETTER RESEARCH ON HABITAT AND HFW CONTINUES TO OPPOSE WOLF HUNTING.ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2023 HOWLING FOR WOLVES HOSTED A BOOTH AT VEG FEST IN ST. PAUL, MN TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT WILD WOLVES.
