FOR INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION SERVICES THE ORGANIZATION CREATES AND MAINTAINS INNOVATION AND COLLOBORATION ENVIRONMENTS THAT ENABLE CUSTOMERS TO EFFECTIVELY EXPAND THEIR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PROJECT'S PERFORMANCE. SOCOM - SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND LOCATED IN TAMPA, FL AT MCDILL AIR FORCE BASE. THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE (DOD) ACTIVATED U.S. SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND (USSOCOM) ON APRIL 16, 1987, AT MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, FLA.
