QUBIT'S PRIMARY PROGRAM SERVICE IS TO PRODUCE, PROMOTE, AND DELIVER CONCERTS AND OTHER INTERDISCIPLINARY EVENTS TO THE THE PEOPLE OF NEW YORK CITY AND STATE. IN FY22, QUBIT SERVED OVER 1200 PEOPLE DURING 5 EVENTS IN NEW YORK CITY. FOR THE PAST THIRTEEN SEASONS OUR MISSION HAS BEEN TO BRING TOGETHER DIVERSE AUDIENCES AND ARTISTS ALIKE IN UNIQUE & COMPELLING WAYS. WE STRIVE TO FOSTER A COMMUNITY IN WHICH OUR ATTENDEES EXPERIENCE CAPTIVATING WORKS-BOTH EXTANT AND NEWLY COMMISSIONED -CREATED BY ARTISTS WHO ARE THEMSELVES DRIVEN BY DISCOVERING NEW FORMS OF EXPRESSION. FOCUSED ON THE USE OF NEW MUSIC TECHNOLOGIES AND HOW THEY CAN ADVANCE PERFORMANCE PRACTICE AND SONIC AESTHETICS, QUBIT IS A CURATORIAL AND PRODUCTION PLATFORM FOR EMERGING AND MID-CAREER ARTISTS DEDICATED TO EMBARKING UPON THE UNCERTAIN PATH TO FINDING THEIR OWN VOICE THROUGH RISK-TAKING AND EXPERIMENTATION. IN 2022, QUBIT PRODUCED FIVE MAJOR EVENTS IN NEW YORK CITY. THESE INCLUDED, STARTING IN FEBRUARY, OUR INNOVATOR LAB ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE, MERCHE BLASCO, PERFORMING AT MISE-EN-PLACE IN BROOKLYN, ALONG SIDE LUCIE VITKOVA AND GRYPHON RUE. APRIL BROUGHT A PERFORMANCE BY BASSIST AND VOCALIST JOSEPH BROCK IN BROOKLYN. IN JUNE, QUBIT RELEASED "SLOW MOTION", A VIDEO ALBUM OF WORKS COMMISSIONED AND PRODUCED BY THE ORGANIZATION OVER THE COURSE OF THE PANDEMIC, AND RELEASED IT ON CARRIER RECORDS. THE LARGEST EVENT OF FY22 WAS "LOUD AS IT PLAYS", QUBIT'S AUDIOGUIDE COMPANION TO THE 2022 WHITNEY BIENNIAL. WITH A DEDICATED WEBSITE FEATURING 25 ARTISTS, IT WAS A MAJOR INTERVENTION INTO THE MUSEUM'S CURATION. THE AUDIOGUIDE WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A DAY OF PERFORMANCES ON AND AROUND THE HIGHLAND OF WORKS BY CAROLYN CHEN AND LAURA STEENBERGE. IN NOVEMBER, WE PRODUCED A CONCERT OF MUSIC WITH LIVE ELECTRONICS PERFORMED BY OLIVIA DE PRATO AND KATIE PORTER. DECEMBER SAW A MAJOR EVENT AT ST. AGNES CHURCH WITH MUSIC BY SARAH DAVACHI AND CAT LAMB.
