PENINSULA YOUTH SAILING FOUNDATION PROVIDES SAILING INSTRUCTION AND COACHING AFTER SCHOOL AND ON WEEKENDS FOR YOUTH AGES 8-18 YEARS OLD TO SAIL IN VARIOUS SAILBOATS AND LEARN BASIC SAILING INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFETY, AND PROGRESS TO COMPETE AS PART OF A TEAM IN HIGH SCHOOL REGATTAS THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA. ADDITIONALLY, JUNIOR RACING PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SAILORS TO LEARN HOW TO SAIL IN OPTIMIST, 420 AND LASER SAILBOATS AND TO COMPETE IF THEY WISH IN REGATTAS THROUGHOUT THE US IN THE FALL SEASON.
DURING THE SUMMER PENINSULA YOUTH SAILING FOUNDATION HOLDS 1-2 WEEK LONG SUMMER CAMPS FOR YOUTH (8 TO 18 YEARS OLD). BASIC SAILING INSTRUCTION AND SAFETY ARE TAUGHT AND A FUN REGATTA IS HELD ON THE FINAL DAY OF CAMP. COACHES WHO ARE ADVANCED SAILORS FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL SAILING TEAMS AS WELL AS OTHER SAILING COACHES ARE INSTRUCTORS APPROXIMATELY 134 YOUTH (8 - 18 YEARS) PARTICIPATED IN THE SUMMER PROGRAM.
PENINSULA YOUTH SAILING FOUNDATION PROVIDES SAILING INSTRUCTION AND COACHING AFTER SCHOOL AND ON WEEKENDS FOR YOUNG SAILORS AGES 8 TO 12 YEARS TO SAIL IN SAILBOATS. THEY LEARN BASIC SAILING INSTRUCTION AND APPROXIMATELY 115 YOUTH PARTICIPATED.
