Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
EAST TEXAS CHAPTER PROVIDED EMOTIONAL SUPPORT TO WOUNDED AND/OR DISABLED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES SUCH AS FISHING AND HUNTING. THE DEER HUNT PROVIDED WARRIORS WITH CLEANING, AND PROCESSING THE MEAT FROM THE GAME THEY SHOT. GIFTS WERE GIVEN TO THE WARRIORS THAT KILLED THE LARGEST BUCK AND THE BUCK WITH THE MOST ANTLERS. THIS EVENT IS PROVING TO BE ONE OF OUR BEST EVENTS.
LAKE TACOMA CHAPTER CLOSED IN 2021 BUT NOT BEFORE THEY RECEIVED DONATIONS FROM 4 INDIVIDUALS AND COMPANIES OF 4 AMAZING ITEMS TO RAFFLE OFF. TWO KNIVES, DEER FEEDER, AND A SMOKER. THIS HELP WITH THEM PROVIDING FISHING AND GOLF TOURNAMENTS TO WOUNDED AND/OR DISABLED VETERANS AS WELL AS A WILD HOG HUNT THAT WAS OPEN TO THEIR FAMILIES AS WELL.
NC CHAPTER USUALLY PROVIDES VARIOUS TYPES OF HUNTS FOR WOUNDED AND/OR DISABLED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. HOWEVER, THIS PAST YEAR THEY HELD A FUNDRAISERS THAT TURNED OUT TO BE QUITE SUCCESSFUL. THEY USED SOME OF THOSE FUNDS TO PROVIDE THEIR NEXT MOST SUCCESSFUL EVENT. A FISHING TOURNAMENT AT THE OUTER BANKS OF NC.
THE RECOVERY FROM THE PANDEMIC HAS BEEN SLOW, HOWEVER THIS YEAR HAS PROVED TO SHOW A LITTLE MORE PARTICIPATION IN OUR OTHER EVENTS INCLUDING VARIOUS TYPES OF HUNTING, AWARDS, MEALS, HOTEL STAYS, TRAVEL, ETC. WE ACTUALLY HAVE HAD TO CLOSE TWO OF OUR CHAPTERS DUE TO NON-PARTICIPATION.
