NURTURE'S WORK FOCUSED ON THREE KEY SERVICE AREAS: 1) IMPROVED ACCESS TO PERINATAL SUPPORTS AND RESOURCES:CONDUCTED THE AREA'S FIRST PERINATAL RESOURCE MAPPING PROJECT, DOCUMENTING PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH, LACTATION, AND DOULA SUPPORT PROVIDERS IN THE HEALTH DISTRICT 15, AND BEGAN BUILDING A COMMUNITY-INFORMED BIRTH AND EARLY PARENTING RESOURCE DIRECTORY MODELED ON INITIATIVES IN OTHER STATES.
2) IMPROVED THE LOCAL MATERNAL / INFANT HEALTH ECOSYSTEM.CONVENED BI-MONTHLY PERINATAL HEALTH MONDAY SESSIONS FEATURING SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS AND CREATING A CONSISTENT SPACE FOR PERINATAL HEALTH AND EARLY CHILDHOOD STAKEHOLDERS TO EXCHANGE IDEAS AND KNOWLEDGE, AND BUILD RELATIONSHIPS NECESSARY FOR FUTURE COLLECTIVE IMPACT WORK.
3) PROVIDE BREAST-FEEDING SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY.WORKED WITH TWO OTHER LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO ORGANIZE A CALL TO ACTION TO SHARE IN THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROTECTING BREASTFEEDING THAT HAS BEEN SIGNED BY OVER 125 COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND LOCAL LEADERS.PRODUCED A PUBLIC AWARENESS VIDEO THAT HAS BEEN VIEWED NEARLY 5,000 TIMES.
