STUDENT ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL AND NATIONAL PROGRAMS IN STEAM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS, AND MATH), COLLEGE TOURS, CULTURAL IMMERSION, AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT. STUDENTS ARE EQUIPPED WITH TOOLS THAT EMPOWER THEM TO BECOME THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS, CHANGE AGENTS, FUTURE HUSBANDS, FATHERS, AND ROLE MODELS IN THEIR COMMUNITY EXTENDED LEARNING THROUGH EARLY EXPOSURE TO REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCES HELPS TO FOSTER ACADEMIC SUCCESS BY HELPING YOUNG MEN TO PURSUE THEIR PASSIONS AND DEVELOP A GROWTH MINDSET THAT WILL ENABLE THEM NOT ONLY TO DREAM BUT TO ACHIEVE THOSE DREAMS THROUGH TENACITY AND SELF-MOTIVATION.

OTHER PROGRAMS.

SUSTAINING AND EXPANDING PROGRAM ENRICHMENT IS ESSENTIALTHAT IT GIVES OUR YOUNG MEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE NEW AREAS OF INTEREST AND DEVELOP THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO PREPARE THEM FOR THE WORKFORCE OF TOMORROW. EIGHTY PERCENT OF THE YOUNG MEN SERVED COME FROM SOCIALLY UNDER-RESOURCED HOUSEHOLDS IN DALLAS. PROGRAM ENRICHMENT PROVIDES STRATEGIES AND TOOLS TO ENRICH THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STUDENTS AND FACILITATE GENERATIONAL CHANGE SO THAT GENERATIONAL POVERTY CAN BE ELIMINATED THROUGH EDUCATION. A VARIETY OF STRATEGIES ARE PUT IN PLACE TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF POVERTY AND TO HELP STUDENTS REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL THROUGH EXTENDED LEARNING PROGRAMS. THROUGH THESE EFFORTS STUDENTS CAN GROW ACADEMICALLY, SOCIALLY, AND EMOTIONALLY. FURTHERMORE, STUDENTS ARE GIVEN EQUITABLE RESOURCES THROUGH STATE-OF-THE-ART TOOLS, SOFTWARE, EQUIPMENT, AND ADDITIONAL TECHNOLOGY.

PROFESSIONAL ENRICHMENT INVESTING IN THE EXCELLENCE OF THE STUDENTS BEGINS WITH INVESTING IN THE EDUCATORS. PROFESSIONAL ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES HELP PROMOTE BOTH PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH FOR TEACHERS. FACULTY AND STAFF AT THE BARACK OBAMA MALE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (BOMLA) HAVE ACCESS TO RESOURCES THAT ENHANCE THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND CREDENTIALS. THIS INCLUDES PARTICIPATION IN CONFERENCES FOCUSED ON CURRICULUM AND PROGRAMMING FOR SINGLE-GENDER SCHOOLS. THROUGH THIS ADDITIONAL TRAINING, TEACHERS CAN EXPLORE ALTERNATIVE LEARNING TOOLS THAT WILL IMPROVE STUDENT OUTCOMES.
