THE MISSION OF THE TVDA IS TO COLLABORATE AND COORDINATE EFFECTIVELY ACROSS THE PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND SOCIAL SECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY TO ENHANCE THE COMMUNITIES WELL BEING AND SUSTAINABILITY IN THE TWIN VILLAGES OF DAMARISCOTTA AND NEWCASTLE. THE ORGANIZATION SEEKS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL BY BRINGING TOGETHER ALL OF THE STAKEHOLDERS IN THE COMMUNITY, (THE TOWNS OF DAMARISCOTTA AND NEWCASTLE, THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, LOCAL BUSINESSES AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS) TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION AND SUSTAINED DIVERSE GROWTH WITHIN THE TWO TOWNS. IN 2021 THE TWIN VILLAGES DOWNTOWN ALLIANCE WORKED TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITH THE TOWNS OF DAMARISCOTTA AND NEWCASTLE AND THE MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. WE COORDINATED VARIOUS DISCUSSIONS RELATED TO THE CHANGES WITHIN THE TOWNS OF DAMARISCOTTA AND NEWCASTLE. WE ALSO HELPED TO COORDINATE EVENTS WITHIN THE TWIN VILLAGES INCLUDING A MAP FOR CYCLISTS VISITING THE TWIN VILLAGES.
IN 2021 THE TWIN VILLAGES DOWNTOWN ALLIANCE COORDINATED A DOWNTOWN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR THE COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEERS WORKED TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE INFORMATION BUREAU FACILITY TO REPAIR AND MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO BENEFIT THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
