SVP BOSTON, A GROUP OF DIVERSE, HIGHLY SKILLED PROFESSIONALS, COLLABORATES WITH CAREFULLY SELECTED BOSTON AREA NON-PROFITS BY INVESTING THEIR TIME, SKILLS, AND MONEY TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THESE NON-PROFITS TO DELIVER MEANINGFUL SOCIAL IMPACT. IN ITS COMBINATION OF FUNDING AND VOLUNTEERING, SVP BOSTON PROVIDES A UNIQUE, TARGETED, AND HIGHLY LEVERAGED PHILANTHROPIC FUNDING SOURCE TO THE BOSTON AREA NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY, WHILE ALSO ENABLING ITS GRANT RECIPIENTS TO ACCESS STRATEGIC-LEVEL VOLUNTEERS, ADVICE, CONTACTS, AND ORGANIZATIONAL PRACTICES.IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING FUNDING AND VOLUNTEER EXPERTISE TO CAREFULLY SELECTED BOSTON AREA NONPROFITS, SVP BOSTON ALSO SEEKS TO DEVELOP EFFECTIVE PHILANTHROPY IN THE BOSTON AREA BY EDUCATING ITS PARTNERS TO BE INFORMED, EFFECTIVE, LIFE-LONG PHILANTHROPISTS. GRANTMAKING: SVP BOSTON PROVIDES GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT GRANTS TO A PORTFOLIO OF CAREFULLY SELECTED NONPROFITS. FOR THE YEARS ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2021 AND 2020, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED CASH GRANTS TOTALING $122,500 AND $205,750 TO SEVEN AND EIGHT NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, RESPECTIVELY.NONPROFIT CAPACITY BUILDING: SVP BOSTON SUPPORTS CAPACITY BUILDING FOR ITS INVESTEES BY PROVIDING CASH GRANTS AND SKILLED VOLUNTEERS. SVP BOSTON HELPS NONPROFITS BE AS EFFECTIVE AS POSSIBLE IN DELIVERING THEIR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES BY HELPING TO BUILD THEIR ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY. SVP BOSTON DEFINES ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY BUILDING AS THE DEVELOPMENT OF CORE SKILLS, MANAGEMENT PRACTICES, STRATEGIES, AND SYSTEMS TO ENHANCE AN ORGANIZATION'S EFFECTIVENESS, SUSTAINABILITY, AND ABILITY TO FULFILL ITS MISSION. IN THE YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2021, SVP BOSTON ESTIMATES THAT ITS PARTNERS DONATED APPROXIMATELY 3,500 HOURS TO THESE NONPROFITS. BASED ON AN AVERAGE RATE OF $150 FOR PRO BONO BUSINESS CONSULTING SERVICES, WHICH IS BENCHMARKED AGAINST INDUSTRY STANDARDS, SVP BOSTON ESTIMATES THAT THE VALUE OF ITS VOLUNTEERING WAS APPROXIMATELY $525,000. THIS AMOUNT OF IN-KIND SERVICES IS NOT INCLUDED AS A PROGRAM EXPENSE IN THE NUMBERS REPORTED ON THIS FORM 990.PHILANTHROPY DEVELOPMENT: SVP BOSTON PROVIDES WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS PARTNERS IN ORDER TO (1) INCREASE THEIR USE OF STRATEGIC GIVING STRATEGIES; (2) INCREASE ENGAGEMENT IN THEIR COMMUNITIES; AND (3) INCREASE THEIR AMOUNT OF GIVING.
