DURING OUR CALENDAR YEAR OF 2023, THE INSTITUTE FOR CREATIVE MUSIC PRESENTED OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY CONCERTS, TRAINED OUR TEACHERS, AND PRESENTED GROUP MUSIC CLASSES AND INDIVIDUAL LESSONS. OUR TEACHERS PARTICIPATED IN ZOOM-BASED TRAINING WITH MASTER TEACHERS AND MET REGULARLY FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS. CONTINUING TO PROMOTE OUR DENTON JAZZ WORKSHOPS AND CREATIVE MUSIC KIDS CLASSES AND NEW PRIVATE LESSONS THROUGH DIRECT-TO-SCHOOL ADVERTISING HAS INCREASED OUR CONNECTION TO THE COMMUNITY AND INCREASED OUR POPULATION OF STUDENTS ACROSS ALL PROGRAMS. THIS FALL WE PRESENTED TWO COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS, "EXPERIENCING JAZZ," WITH DR. KIM TEAL AND THE IFCM COLLECTIVE AND "EXPERIENCING CREATIVE MUSIC" WITH COMPOSER MATTHEW GOLOMBISKY AT THE DENTON UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST FELLOWSHIP. MATTHEW ALSO WORKED WITH AND PERFORMED ALONGSIDE THE DENTON JAZZ WORKSHOPS AT THE DENTON ARTS & JAZZ FESTIVAL IN OCTOBER. WE PRESENTED ONE COMMUNITY WORKSHOP THIS SPRING, "DENTON JAZZ WORKSHOPS FAMILY JAM," WITH STUDENT PERFORMERS AT THE EMILY FOWLER CENTRAL LIBRARY, A CREATIVE MUSIC KIDS STUDENT RECITAL AT OUR STUDIO AT 2031 MALONE STREET, AS WELL AS A PERFORMANCE BY THE DENTON JAZZ WORKSHOPS AT THE PATTERSON-APPLETON ARTS CENTER.
