THERE IS NO PRIZE MONEY AND THE EMPHASIS IS ON HAVING FUN IN A COMPETITIVE EVENT. TO ENSURE A "PROPER ATTITUDE" AMONG COMPETITORS, A "13/13" RULE APPLIES THAT PUTS A DRIVER OUT OF THAT EVENT AND ON PROBATION FOR 13 MONTHS SHOULD THEY BE INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT THAT INVOLVES CAR DAMAGES (EVEN IF IT'S LIMITED TO THEIR OWN CAR). CARS ARE CLASSED BASED ON WEIGHT AND HORSEPOWER. THE EVENT IS STAFFED BY ZONE REGION VOLUNTEER MEMBERS THAT PROVIDE REGISTRATION, TECH INSPECTIONS, STAGING, SCORING. THE "48 HOURS AT THE GLEN" IS NORMALLY THE SECOND LARGEST REVENUE RAISER AND IS HELD ANNUALLY IN MAY OR JUNE AT WATKINS GLEN INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY. THE EVENT WAS NOT HELD IN 2023 DUE TO A CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER EVENT SCHEDULED BY THE WGI RACEWAY. THE ORGANIZATION IS HOPEING TO RESCHEDULE THIS EVENT IN THE NEAR FUTURE AT WGI OR ANOTHER SUITIBLE VENUE. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES 3 DAYS OF HIGH PERFORMANCE DRIVING EDUCATION FOR MEMBERS WITH THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING DRIVING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS. DRIVERS ARE CLASSED AS TO DRIVING EXPERIENCE AT FIVE DIFFERENT LEVELS: INSTRUCTED (GREEN, YELLOW); INTERMEDIATE SOLO (WHITE); ADVANCED (BLACK); INSTRUCTOR (RED), AND ARE ON THE TRACK ONLY IN THEIR SPECIFIC RUN GROUP.
