THE LA FUND'S MISSION IS TO BUILD INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIPS TO CREATE SOLUTIONS THAT IMPROVE THE EDUCATIONAL, HEALTH, AND WELLNESS OUTCOME IN LOS ANGELES. THROUGH COLLABORATION AND CREATIVITY, WE INSPIRE ACTION AND ACHIEVE IMPACT.

GBLA: GIRLS BUILD LA IS A SERVICE LEARNING GRANT PROGRAM, CHALLENGING YOUNG WOMEN FROM MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL TO SOLVE ISSUES IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. EACH YEAR 500 YOUNG WOMEN ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE TO WORK AS TEAMS AND CREATE INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS AT THEIR SCHOOLS, WITH TOP TEAMS AWARDED COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS. IN TOTAL MORE THAN $50,000 WAS AWARDED IN SCHOLARSHIPS. 20,000 COMMUNITY MEMBERS WERE SERVED THROUGH GIRLS BUILD LA TEAM PROJECTS. 100% OF PARTICIPANTS SAID THEY WOULD RECOMMEND THE PROGRAM TO PEERS.
ARTS MATTER: ARTS MATTER WAS A THREE YEAR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE WITH LEADING ARTS INTEGRATION PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS FROM AROUND THE LOS ANGELES AREA. EACH PARTNER RECEIVED A GRANT TO PILOT NEW ARTS INTEGRATION INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES AT SCHOOLS ALL OVER LOS ANGELES. BEST PRACTICES WERE IDENTIFIED AND THEN SHARED WITH LAUSD ADMINISTRATORS, TO BE ADOPTED AT SCALE. IN TOTAL, MORE THAN 4,000 STUDENTS RECEIVED CLASSROOM SUPPORT AND MORE THAN 75 TEACHERS RECEIVED OVER 1,000 HOURS OF TRAINING.
GRANTS HQ: GRANTS HQ PROVIDES A DATABASE OF GRANTS CURATED FOE EDUCATORS, AS WELL AS A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS ON HOW TEACHERS CAN BEST ACCESS TO BENEFIT THEIR CLASSROOMS. IN TOTAL GRANTS HQ HOSTED APPROXIMATELY 600 EDUCATORS AT WORKSHOPS, AND HAD MORE THAN 2,100 RECURRING USERS ON THE DATABASE. THROUGH GRANTS HQ LOS ANGELES AREA TEACHERS RECEIVED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
